Well, I didn't say all Nintendo fans don't want, like or speak bad of 3rd parties, but that on this forum there are a lot who behave just like that.

Given the events of 2017, I think it's more than fair to be skeptical of AAA third-party games. Titles like Destiny 2, Shadow of War, Call of Duty: WWII, and Battlefront 2 don't exactly inspire confidence.

Right now, Nintendo fans who look down on those types of games, and the shoddy design decisions and cynical business practices therein, are probably on the right side of history. If anything, I think Sony and Microsoft fans are headed toward a reckoning. They'll have to decide whether AAA third-party games, which keep their favorite platforms afloat, are worth lionizing.

Yes, lets not open the scope to look at the last 10 years how much love Nintendo fans gave to 3rd parties.

meh this thread seems like a stealth troll but what do I know

Nintendo is the only console maker in this planet that has the luxury of not relying heavily on third party for success. They are off to an amazing start and as a gamer myself I am loving the Switch, has given me many hours of joy and games keep on coming, Pokemon WILL be huge, make no mistake about it, Animal Crossings, Metroid Prime 4, Smash and possibly a new Mario Kart are all happening. If the Switch reaches 20-25 million units in the next year then you better believe third parties will jump in.

Think not of it as a game console but more as a handheld+ so it will outsell the 3DS and could become a success at 100 million life time.

Two different things. I can love 3rd-party-games and hate they don't come to Nintendo and still think they're unneeded for success of the device.

Then again, I do tend to interface with like-minded Nintendo fans who tend to play more Japanese third-party games (JRPGs and SRPGs, on my part) than the rest of the fanbase.

*glares at 3DS shelf which has more Atlus than Nintendo games*

Now that I understand what you really mean, yes, I do agree that Nintendo fans here tend to be overly negative toward third-party support for the platform.

And I don`t really fault them for to reasons... first yes a lot of ports are poor and second I also preffer Sony 1st party and Nintendo than the 3rd parties...

But the only failure I see Switch doing is fail to do bad as some are expecting.

In half of this site, everything that isn't praise to Nintendo is taken as a troll. Give it a rest. People are entitled to their opinions and it IS interesting to talk about it rather than shut it down.

When someone makes a controversial thread, and then he doesn't post in it anymore, it does feel like a troll.

If it wasn't getting a mainline Pokémon game, then you might have had a point.

Maybe not fail, but it wont do numbers like crazy nintendo fans expect or predict. I think it wont sell over 50 millions. Sales will decline next year, the big switch hype is over
