Forums - Sales Discussion - PS4 worldwide sales top 70.6 million, PlayStation VR tops two million

That's 130million PS4 games sold since June 11th as well. Highly impressive.

According to vgchartz, ps4 was at 66 mil at the end of October. So 4 mil ps4 were sold in November. Is that possible? Or vgchartz is undertracking ps4?

This site has sales from Oct 30-Dec 3 2016 over 3.2 million and considering that PS4 has been up YOY all year and Sony said this was their best Black Friday ever, 4 million sounds about right. Maybe a little undertracked but not much at all.

Sure. Its one whole montha and an extra december week, the most busy period of the year.So it might very well have sold that much.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Sure. Its one whole montha and an extra december week, the most busy period of the year. And that 70.7 millions is shipped, so there will be 1 million give or take that vgchartz wont track because it wasnt sold to consumers.

"PlayStation 4 has cumulatively sold through more than 70.6 million units to consumers as of December 3, Sony Interactive Entertainment" its not shipped, but 4 million in whole november + a few days sounds about right, so i would say VGChartz is pretty accurate.

Sold through 70.6 mil as of December 3rd(not really a whole week of December). Vgchartz has ps4 at 66 mil at the end of October. So at least 4 mil were sold during November which is enormous if true. I didnt think it was possible

Wii is still ahead by about 7-8 million.

Ps4 will be ahead by end of next year. I think wii 4th or 5th year was really bad.

Wii sold about 11.5 million in 2011 according to this site putting it at 93.4 million.

PS4 is at 70.6m so it will likely be at 74-75 million (lets say 74.5m) at the end of this year.

PS4 will need to sell about 19 million next year to pass Wii which is certainly possible considering this year will be around ~21 million while 2015/2016 were each ~18.5 million.

It will definitely be close, im gonna say they will be within 1 million of each other.

it might have even sold almost 2m in Black Friday week, so I agree.

it sold 100k in Spain alone that week!

But the last vgchartz hardware sales entry is at 28th october, so there is an extra 3 or 2 days there, which might add with the december days making it close enough to a full week.
