The Game Awards next Thursday is going to fully reveal a massive "Insane" 6th main entry of a major gaming franchises. A "sequel" which Geoff Keighley has teased that "some gamers want it, others do not". A curious statement that is almost never said about a game, especially in such a positive manner to hype people up. Could this be a series with a polarizing fan base? Is it a series that fans feel that there isn't much that can be done with it and wants it to be left alone? Has the series met some weaker entries? Or perhaps another reason all together. It is certainly an odd statement that leaves one curious and filled with excitement.

Many people believe that the game in question could Calibur 6. A game that is not only long over due, but also allegedly had it's announcement leaked for the PSX. While Soul Calibur V was debatably the series weakest link in the eyes of many of its fans thanks to some series changes that weren't too well received. I don't see why people would suddenly not want them to try again and deliver Soul Calibur VI. Personally I don't think this is the game.

What game do you think is about to get it's 6th major entry revealed next week? Or better yet, what game do you hope will be revealed? The Game Awards has been promised to be it's biggest yet and with lots of surprises and ideas that is promised to blow our minds. Maybe even a game reveal that will break the internet! Jk! Happy speculating and only 5 more days to go! Or 4 more if you're picky about midnight and time-zone changes. The Game Awards are going to be on fire this year!

Update: I added a poll based on the most popular picks that people stated. Subtitles are just for fun.

The Elder Scrolls VI
Grand Theft Auto VI

One of those two.

GTA VI, maybe? ES VI though, not a chance in hell. That would Bethesda’s biggest game since Skyrim, so I have zero doubts they’d want to reveal on their own stage at E3 or something, so they can make a whole thing about it.

0331 Happiness is a belt-fed weapon

Calling it: Metal Gear Solid VI

He never said there are more people wanting it than people who don't want it :p

GTA, Elder Scrolls, Halo, Street Fighter, SoulCalibur and Metal Gear Solid are all big franchises that are have 5 games so far. But why would people not want to get a 6th game?

A major game franchise at the game awards?

I'm a little skeptical.

The 6th numbered game, or just a 6th installment overall?

I'm guessing Soul Calibur 6 considering how much that has been rumored now.

I can certainly speak for Halo here. The 4th, while it's campaign was great... It's multiplayer was an imbalanced mess. Bungie's last game, reach was much the same... Actually... It was worse. Campaign again was great though.

Halo 5 made massive in roads for the competitive scene. The campaign, while it wasn't bad... It wasn't up to Halo standards and let a big portion of the fanbase down. Especially after 343 proved themselves with 4.

The competitive fanbase is particularly polarised. Not enough to not want a halo 6 though which is why I doubt it's halo.

I sincerely doubt that it would be gta VI either.

Wow Persona 6 or MGS6?

I'm gonna say MGS6

Devil may cry and fallout could also be added to the list

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.
