Hopefully the Xbox X sells really well so Sony doesn't pull a PS3 and try to stretch the PS4 past it's expiration date. I don't think I can take another 7/8 year cycle with the same console.

At $500 and playing the same games you play on $200 consoles? It won't. These pixels just don't mean as much as a lot would have you believe.

Now I had watched this video and wasn't going to say anything. But I'll just put it out there here.......

Who here plays their games at 300% zoom?

Now I am sure there are a few things here and theer that you may notcie at a glance during normal gameplay betwen the two, but do those thing reflect this 100%+ boost these comparisons would have you believe?

This is an honest sincere question. Because I believe certain points in al this are lost to me if they have to zoom in by 300% on a 4k video (with me watching it in 4k too) just to show a difference.

And before anyone says I am trying to downplay anything, this is exactly what I used to say about the PS4/XB1 comparisons, and those mostly didn't even need zooming in to point out differences. I used to say that unless you are playing and looking out for those differences, you probably wouldn't notice them.

The Xbox 360 went on for 8 years without a replacement. Longer than the PS3. Besides, the only consoles that are going to matter in regards to lasting sales are the base PS4 and Xbox One.

I guess it sounded like I was pointing my finger at Sony but it was a shot aimed and both of them. Nintendo already launched their 9th generation console so, they get a pass. I just don't want my Xbox One and PS4 to be a lead platform for another 3 or 4 years. I'd probably quit playing both of them if that happened.

Is the PC version on Origin? Because i picked this up on the X mainly due to the 1st one being Origin only. Shame if it is because i would have loved a Steam or Win10 version.

1800P = 3200x1800 = 5,760,000 pixels.
1296P = 2304x1296 = 2,985,984 pixels.
A 92.9% increase in the Xbox One X's favor.

2160P = 3840x2160 = 8,294,400 pixels.
1440P = 2560x1440 = 3,686,400 pixels.
A 125% increase in the Xbox One X's favor.

The performance gap is larger than what the raw flops would imply.

Well we did see some 720p XB1 games run at 1080p on the PS4 (COD: Ghosts for example). Still a pretty amazing upgrade.

Wasn't that before Microsoft freed up the extra Ram/GPU power/CPU Power/Improved the API's, Enhanced the Drivers though?
Later Call of Duty games actually got a resolution bump thanks to dynamic resolution.
On Xbox One you would look at 1360 x 1080 minimum, which is a big step up from the 1280x720 in Ghosts. Aka. Roughly 60% resolution increase.

There was a massive divide during early Xbox One and the Playstation 4 games due to those very aspects, later on... Most games achieve 900P when the Playstation 4 hits 1080P.
Or 720P on the Xbox One when the Playstation 4 was hitting 900P.

In short... My statement still holds true that flops isn't a representation of the systems resolution capabilities.

It's Origin, but you can add non-Steam to Steam, including BFII. This way, you can play Origin games with Steam's overlay.

Yes that is true.  I am more referring to its achievement system etc. I rarely use Origin. I dont even think i downloaded the app since i upgraded my PC haha

Seems like a hefty difference. Have one version received more work?

That engine is pretty scalable. So I’d say this is more of a sign of the differences between the Pro and X.

If neither platform wasn't favored... then it really is a case of the difference between the platforms being much more than what specs would suggest.

No. The xbox one x is 6tf and that is why you see the substantial difference.

And since when did the difference between 4.2 to 6 became over 100%?

XBX has clearly a superior hardware in pretty much every way. However, that does not make it automatically better because most of the differences boil down to the RESOLUTION. There are two major issues with that...

1) The vast majority of people do not have 4K TVs, and the difference between 1080 super-sampled images are only subtle, regardless how blown out in comparisons.

2) Diminishing returns to image quality means a jump from 720 to 1080p implies a much greater visual impact than from 1080 to 4K even though technically it would imply the other way around.

Additionally, with the given installed user-base, most third party games will be based on playstation platforms and / or will be scalable around a stable performance (30 or 60 fps with dynamic scaling).
