No. it serves no good purpose and is hypocritical to have in societies that condemn murder.

Is it though? Murder and executions aren't the same thing. Neither are murder and killing, and there's very little condemnation of killing. People aren't punished for killing in self-defence (or if they're a cop in some countries...). There's certainly no condemnation towards those whose job it is to kill (soldiers), if anything they are glorified rather than condemned.

Except both execution and murder share that they are deliberate. The reason killing in self defense isn´t viewed upon as being as bad is because you have no choice and doesn´t do it delibirately. I would say that executing a person is the equivalent of murder.

If somebody murdered or raped my daughter then there's nothing more i'd want than to see than that person dead, not only that Id want to see them die painfully. I wouldn't feel uneasy or any remorse. So yes I support it because other fathers/mothers would more than likely feel the same no matter what other people unconnected with the crime think. Obviously the authorities have to be 100% certain that the person did the serious crime.

So, you get pleasure out of seeing someone tortured?

Like I said, if somebody Murdered or raped my Daughter id want them dead. there's no other punishment that would be justifiable to me. The thought that that person would still be on this planet alive be constantly digging away at me.

Death is to good for some people. Mass murderers would sometime just suicide after the crime.

Put them in a cell, give them no sun light, no interaction with anyone, and let them lose track of time.

Yes I support it. If you murder people or rape people I'd prefer live in a world you are not in.

And there´s a reason judgement on another person shouldn´t be made by people without judicial education in their background. A justice system must be void of personal feelings.

What about other deliberate forms of killing? eg. a cop shooting a criminal (in an incident where it's justified of course ).

Well, it´s never justified unless it´s in self defence or in the act of protecting another person. I actually think most police officers in Sweden (where I´m from) don´t even carry a weapon =).

For people that can't ammend and if they can't sustain their own time in prison then they shall die.
