Their stock is on fire. I bought in a month or two ago at low 74 and didn't expect this kind of jump so soon. Making money is what Microsoft knows.

I guess results are not so good.

Not so good ? They are tragic, lower than 360. PS4 is basically the very same device as XO and outnumber it like 2/3x ?

If Kowenicki did a proper thread about console segment, there will be only doomgloom posts. Easy to hide this catalcysm behind tons of labels from PC, Cloud etc.

One X maybe will save it ...or Xbox will turn into one of these no name media boxes.

Approx $50 billion added to the value of MSFT so far today... incredible.

Of course Xbox One X launch will add another 50 billions right............

That's only for the Xbox part... Microsoft is also doing Surface etc... He was talking about hardware.
But yah, if he is only reading the Xbox part, I guess results are not so good. Would not call them really really bad tho as it seems to still be enough to get software up.

You might want to change the part in your previous comment where you said the XB1 is selling quite well

Why? I think it is selling quite well... As I said too, not selling as much as the competitor does not mean 'really really' bad :)
Results may not be so good compared to previous FY quarters (and I agree with that).

I think I'm really not helping tho with my posts going in 2 directions lol; sorry about that... But yah, 'really really' bad is different from me than not having the same numbers than next year.

"If you want to know how the Xbox hardware revenue did alone, it had a 48% drop from FY17 Q1 which had a 28% drop from FY16 Q1."

-5Twist (neogaf)

Xbox One sales are massivily down though.

So hardware is selling really really bad

I do not think they sais anywhere it is selling "really really" bad, not reaching the same numbers than last quarter (or last fiscal year Q) does not mean "really really" bad. In fact we know the Xbox One actually selling quite well (not selling as much as a competitor does not make it really really bad)..

Funny that this is the only thing you can take out of this :)
Those numbers are amazing. As always for MS

Its down 48% from last year, which was down 28% from the year before.

Not really selling quite well imo.

Good stuff by MS. I believe the X will help with the hardware sales but it was to be expected when you announce a beast like the XOX 1 year before launch.

Hm, doesn't seem like Xbox hardware is selling too great.Wonder how much longer MS will stick with Xbox hardware if it continues to see sizeable declines.

Yeah but it all depends on the period. We kind of expected that hardware (xbox) will be down before the launch of the X. Was their anyone expecting that it would go up? Basically what people are saying is 'we expect it to drop before the X launch and when the numbers show it lets call it bad'...Now people expect that the X may turn it upwards for the next quarter and we could see 20-50% increases so when the numbers will show it lets call it great..

You do know Xbox is the key to Xbox Live. Hardware doesnt have to break records especially when Live members are strong. Income is income they just seem to get it in a different way.

I'm not really surprised that the hardware sales for July to September are down.

Many people interested in an Xbox One model will wait for November, either for the Xbox One X or for good Xbox One S deals (new bundles, Black friday deals or very cheap used consoles from upgraders).
