Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox 360 "Newton" motion controller confirmed

One thing I have to say it this:

MS should stay doing what they do best: Hardcore. Hardcoregames is where their money is at, nowhere else, and honestly, Sony can't compete with them in that market, thats just my opinion.

The best way to describe ms attempting to steal the wii's user base.

Well one example where Both sony and Nintendo have let down fans is the Use of sword style play in games, no attempt so far has really been any good.

Many motion sensing games on PS3 (not all) seem to be plagued with lag issues - not sure if the Wii has the same problem though they both use similar MEMS XYZ inertia sensors.

And the claim people make about 2 handed controller (ie sixaxis or this newton) being bad for motion is wrong  -> Nintendo sells sells a steering wheel attach for the WiiMote so you can use it with 2 hands like the sixaxis ! It's really good for steering and flying games.

Also shooting games or aiming type games most people play 2 handed since it's steadier and greater controll of aim 2 handles is an advantage for pointing and aiming. !

Golf club , hockey stick ,tennis racket (sometimes),  medieval weapons (axes , heavy swords , mace), and practically any heavy item  are gripped with 2 hands so again not a problem.

Yes there are also cases where 1 hand is better too but since the majority of games involve steering or pointing operations the majority work fine if not better with a 2 handed grip.

LMAO! That was just about the best GIF I've ever seen!

However, to be fair, MS has had decent succuess intergrating the Vision Camera, a very wimpy add-on, into their games. There are quite a few that support it.

I could see Microsoft utilizing the motion sensing controls for their RTS games quite easily. Don't you think that the Newton would catch on real quick if lets say.......Halo Wars utilized the controller very, very well?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

OMG Stickball. Great point. MS would actually get me to buy one of those stupid things if Halo Wars used it.

I absolutely despise console RTS games using dual analogs.

If they give the newton the same amount of game support they gave the vision camera, it's screwed. The only games for the vision camera is totemball and the new rare mascot game XBLA game. At least the ps2 eyetoy had about 10 games especially made for it.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

All MS needs to do to beat the Wii and PS3 at motion control is implement an OS feature to allow
tilt steering in any previous game. MS are good at this this is how operating systems allow the use of
ANY joystick or mouse for almost any game.

MS just need to provide a virtual device driver and every driving or flying game on 360 can then be optionally tilt enabled within the OS by replacing one or more thumbstick axis with tilt on a game by game basis.

Sony and Nintendo are clueless about this sort of thing - MS can take the lead from them easily they have left themselves wide open - MS can and should hit them really hard.

I dont like motion controls..actually i hate them..i find it a totaly crap way to play a game. Pointless...

Next gen means nextgen graphics nextgen physics in order to add to the gameplay. They should leave wii to do its thing. Bad move by ms.

I like technology when its moving forward..

In My Opinion: standard controllers with rumble that is a lot better than motion control. I prefer to sit down and play games then stand up and wave my hand at a screen.
