Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

For me, the problem isn't really that the PS4 isn't getting a game (or is getting a game later) because of it, but it's that money could go to making a unique experience, rather than paying that much for a port of an early-access game.

Don't tell them that. It doesn't fit the narrative.

We know that, everybody knows that, why do we get so hung up on that? Both companies do this pactice and even worse when it's time exclusive DLC (imo) but you can't just dismiss it by saying "they do it too." This is just more disheartening when you know that MS is doing the bare, BARE minimum to expand their first party line-up but *are perfectly content to throw money to hold off a game from the competition. *(edit)

Although Turkish made it sounds kinda one-sided, this issue is present on both companies but MS is hit harded by it from what I mentioned above.

It's just disturbing how this company killed their 1st party and now use their funds to prevent a PC game from coming to a rival console platform.

Timed exclusive deals like this are the worst, most anti consumer thing in the industry. They're now even trying to extend their shitty deal.

Why cant MS just make new IP and sell it to us, instead of preventing other peoples games coming out on all platforms.

Sad how they're acting like PUBG is their baby, with their execs celebrating the sales milestones as if they accomplished it, probably offering the billions to Bluehole as we speak.

IMO MS has become redundant in the industry, they haven't had a positive contribution in the industry since the og Xbox, they're no longer a useful competitor to Sony and are just making life more difficult to playas on other platforms instead of trying to sell them their product. The Windows store is awful too, so yeah, I feel MS is redundant at this point.

Because they're playing to their strengths. Nintendo have the characters and reputation for innovation. PS have the pipeline to produce standout games. Microsoft are primarily a platform, and they are taking the Xbox down the line to be an entertainment, so it work better to let others produce. You make not like it, but that's the way it is.

Although this is Microsoft we're talking about, they've enough money to just throw around (2.5 Billion for Minecraft for example).

However, I would say that they are not using all this money they do have very smart or effectively (2.5 Billion for Minecraft for example).

The thing is, I guess with the original Xbox and the 360 they were willing to lose billions in anticipation of future pay-off, but I guess thye have decided that they're satisfied with their current situation and don't want to pour in money.

The problem is, phasing a "games platform" into an "entertainment platform" is reducing their customer base who were buying their "games" platform.  XBox 360 grew Microsoft's customer base over the original XBox based on the quality of its games.  XBox One has seen a VAST reduction of that base do to the lack of those quality titles.  Very few people are going to be buying the next XBox if their focus isn't on games.

It's shitty.

Also glass houses and stuff.

It is what it is. I have a Xbox but rather wait for the ps4 version since I refused to pay two online subscriptions.

The thing is Sony uses their money to first make 1st games and then to "buy" exclusives.  Microsoft just is "buying" exclusives.
