Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Working is hard. Being an employee sucks.

My Etsy store

My Ebay store

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Welcome to Video Game Development, where the pay is crap, the hours are long, and the line up to replace your ass is out the door because making video games is cool.

Yeah, im working right now... "working" hmmmmmmmm lol Boss makes a dollar I make a dime, thats why i poop on company time. Speaking of which to the bathroom I go!

But one day companys will be back to their workers, turnover is a bad thing these days

How else can video games look as good and make a profit. Competition is hard.

What's the alternative? Unions for a better workplace environment, followed by shipping all the jobs to cheaper countries without them... But true, in game development your job is supposed to be your passion 24/7, that's your life, be grateful for working on games, or entertainment in general :/

Did anyone ever think working in the games industry is good for the hours or making money?

Is really all the "evidence" he cites from the very few reviews on glassdoor and job listings by CD Projekt (I skipped through the vid)? Then this video has no conclusive evidence for the statement in the thread title, so it's just "wrong" and OP should feel bad.

Comparing the 30 reviews / 7 CEO reviews of CD Projekt with the > 700/ > 1700 reviews for Ubisoft/EA and the > 400 CEO reviews for both is inappropriate as very few disgruntled ex-staff can hugely impact their score.

That said I don't doubt developing games in Poland is just as shitty (long work hours, crunch time, shitty pay) as anywhere else around the world. It just takes hundreds of thousends of work hours to create an AAA game, which then is sold for a pretty low price.

Yeah of course its wrong because its coming from me right?

Yong gave evidance that these reviews are real, they all said the same thing troughout a time span of 2 years And most of these reviews mentioned that there is a vegetarian cantine, which is highly unlikley to be mentiioned by some random trolls all the time.

Reality of our world... we want things cheap and payment high, even if both can't realistically happen.

"some random troll" could have easily copied bullet points from the other reviews to make his own seem more believable

and the statement is "wrong", because these few glassdoor reviews (as I said) can't be considered conclusive evidence - this has nothing to do with any opinion I might or might not hold concerning your person and that you believe so feels whiny to me

Typical of any work place.  If your at CDPR you are probably very talented, find a new place to work, but the cycle will repeat.
