Forums - Nintendo Discussion - SNES Classic will ship into 2018, NES Classic will return to stores in all regions

I have to say. Nintendo is doing a fantastic job of attempting to combat excessive scalpers. The build up of mass information to state over and over again that there will be plenty of stock and directly telling consumers to NOT pay more on eBay is a great way to combat this.

I'm actually very surprised by this openness and direct attack on scalping. I sincerely hope I can walk into a store and buy one near launch and I'll definitely snag a NES Classic when they re-launch too. Definitely wanted one of each, just unwilling to pay out my ass for one.

Now don't let us down with crap stock.

Also I'll only look past the samus returns amiibo if they can keep squishy metroid easy to buy at least by january.

But what would be point of fake news where they say it's Nintendo official release!?

Here you have official Nintendo Japan Twitter also.

I don't do fake news/information if possible.
Hence why I don't take anything as gospel unless there is substantual citation and evidence to backup a claim.

With that, this has been verified as legitimate now so it's a non-issue.

Well, that premium bought then a system 18+ months before most of the rest of us.

Sorry for your $300 purchase.

I don't have one.  I may consider a purchase if I happen across one at regular retail.  But, I would not pay a penny more.

In defense of scalpers.....

Its those high prices that generated a lot of the buzz around the NES Classic. That buzz created more and more interest in the system, which pushed prices even higher. Eventually, the buzz was so loud that even notoriously def Nintendo had to take notice. And now, they're taking steps to meet demand. So, while I understand the dislike for scalpers, I think it is important to remember that they have an important roll to play in the market.

Another way to say it, for the economists among us - scalpers amplify demand signals.

Except that it is not.

So you condone the scaplers and the idiots who allow themselves to be gouged.  At least you're consistant.

I'm cool with anybody doing anything they want, so long as it doesn't include force or fraud.  However, I haven't made any statement to that effect in this thread.  I simply said that scalpers play an important role in the market.  I would prefer otherwise.  But, the world doesn't give a shit what you or I prefer.
