Splatoon 2 attach rate show us thats must have game for Switch and system seller game, it doesn't say anything else, definitely doesn't says how sales would be if Switch is $300 only handheld, lol. Again, pure fact is that Switch was completely outsold from launch and monts before Splatoon 2 launch, so its not like that Switch is selling in Japan only beacuse of Splatoon 2. I agree that portabilete and games (not only Splatoon 2), but also great value of Switch like hybrid (real home console and real handheld in one with two controllers out of box for local multiplayer), are main reasons why Switch is selling so well. If Switch is $300 only handheld definitely would sell less in any case.

Power is not even secondary reason, nobady who buying Switch doesnt relly cares how much CPU and GPU are strong, or what type and amont of RAM has Switch.

It's also a fact that before splatoon 2 launched people were getting their switches in anticipation for it.  Splatoon 2 was the main seller and if switch was a $300 handheld it would have easily sold the same.

The portability is the main selling point in Japan.

Lol, of course that's not a fact, we can assume that some people were getting Switches in anticipation for Splatoon 2, same like we can assume that some people bought Switch to play Zelda BotW, 1,2 Switch, MK8D, ARMS, Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade 2...  And no, Switch wouldn't sell same if it's only $300 handheld, because value of Switch would be smaller and definitely some people wouldn't want to pay $300 just for handheld device in that case and sales would be smaller.

Yes portability is main selling point in Japan, not only selling point, offcourse that Switch owners even in Japan like that they have option to play games on TV also or that they have two Joy Cons for local multiplayer out of box, alongside full handheld mode, because all that gaves great value to Switch.  ;)

Also reply with 3 weeks delay, lol.

It's well known that lines were crazy big for the Switch when they were starting the test fires.  It's clear to everyone splatoon was the main seller from launch in Japan.

And yes it would sell the same and I'll tell you why.  Switch as it is now (hybrid)  has sold X amount.  But it's deeply supply constrained and could probably have sold double by now.  Therefore the number a $300 handheld only Switch would have to sell is actually a lot lower than the hybrids true potential.

While it would most certainly be selling the same numbers I'm not demand or the waiting list would be as big.

Its well know that Switch has outsold completely from launch and months before Splatoon 2 and that we had lines even before Splatoon 2 test fires. Splatoon2 definatly is strongest Switch system seller game in Japan, but its not only one.

That's totally different thing, it's hard to tell just how much Switch would sell without stock problems or how much smaller demand would be for Switch if it's just a $300 handheld.

I can easily make this claim because weekly sales clearly show the vast majority of people buying switches are for Splatoon.  There are not lines of people queuing up for Zelda or Mario Kart.  They are for Splatoon2primarily.

But even Still If Switch Was A $300 Handheld Only It Would Still Have Mario Kart Deluxe , Zelda , Minecraft Etc

So I Can Say Without Any Doubt The Current Switch Sales Which Are Far Below It's Potential Would Be Met By The Switch If It Didn't Have A Big Screen Mode .

A Blind Man Could See This .

BTW Not Sure Why All Words Are Caps . Phone Gone Loco .

Yeah, the PS4 sold like trash after those first few hyped up weeks. Launched February 2014 and it didn't break a Million until January 2015.

Well, some japanese people haven't liked to be the last served, after US and EU, whereas Sony is a japanese corporation. Thus they have shunned the PS4 at first.
