Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Best story in a Nintendo developed game

Best overall story, I have to say is probably... either Kid Icarus: Uprising or Super Metroid.

Have yet to finish Skyward Sword of Breath of the Wild, but they are close.

Edit: Also will throw Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem in there at the top, thinking back the game was so brilliant it and prior minor success with the Legacy of Kain franchise made a cruddy game developer look good.

Xenoblade Chronicles and Super Paper Mario come to mind.

Xenoblade probably being their best.

Fire Emblem Tellius (Path of Radiance/Radiance Dawn) without a doubt for me

Mother 2/Earthbound is a close contender though

This is my final answer. 3rd being xenoblade chronicles

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Oh how could I forget about this one, it got a really good story too. I'd also add Kid Icarus: Uprising to my list of favorite Nintedo stories.

What was your last Nintendo system, which ones have you missed?

Gamecube, but I only kept it the first half of the gen and traded it so I could get an Xbox.

Far out, there are certainly a lot of great games you wouldn't have played then.

The Switch virtual console should include Wii support as the hardware is certainly capable of it.

Exactly. I need to play mario galaxy and all of zeldas. They really should remaster the 3ds version of ocarina of time.

Would definitely recommend checking out the original Xenoblade Chronicles as well. On Gamecube did you play Metroid Prime 1 and 2?

And yeah, a Switch remake of Ocarina in modern graphics would sell like crack, they should definitely do that.

Super Paper Mario and Earthbound are two of Nintendo's most underappreciated gems, at least Earthbound has a rather loud and long standing cult. I have started seeing a number of Super Paper Mario fans popping up, maybe it will achieve similar status in the not so distant future.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

This would be so amazing, I really enjoy the improved framerate and shinier graphics of the 3ds version but I wish I could play it on a bigger screen.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

But I'll admit I don't play story-heavy games too often, so I've missed out on most of the games people are naming.
