I mean, even taking out the remasters and DLC (don't know what the mobile port is?) that's 9 games. That's a game every 6 weeks instead of Microsofts game every 6 months.

That's also only first party games. You can't forget third party. Just because Sony didn't make it, Sony DID foster those relationships.

Things like Tales, Nier, and Persona 5 very very much add to the Playstation library.

Just like Vesperia, Eternal Sonata, and blue dragon added to Microsofts.

I know, but he's going to be super picky about what PS4 games "count" so it's easier to take anything out that he could really complain about.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Easier just ignore him imo. Because once it is narrowed down, they will just narrow it down again. "All that isn't AAA, that didn't sell well, that is niche, who cares about Japan" etc.

It is an all or none argument for me. Either accept that "games" matter not "first party games" - or it is clear you are biased from the beginning and looking for one and only one answer.

Well the guy have been doing damage control for X1 since 2014 on the basis that wouldn't be funny if sony dominate all. So he will downgrade any sony advantage and will upgrade any perceived MS advantage in a way that can give the impression that they are on equal ground.

To be fair to Microsoft, I too often order takeaway and than say it's the best dinner lineup in this house's history

Everyone is prone to hyperbole every single year =]

But for some reason all years from 2013 up to know had the best lineup ever in Xbox history

Per Phil Spencer:

"2017 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting years ever for Xbox gamers. We are preparing to launch the most powerful console ever made this holiday – Project Scorpio – along with a diverse lineup of games. In fact, we are committed to delivering even more exclusive games for both Xbox One and Windows 10 this year than we launched in 2016.  I was very proud of our first-party lineup in 2016 and I am encouraged by an even bigger and more differentiated first-party lineup in 2017, starting with today’s launch of Halo Wars 2."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Xbox doesn't need to rely on Gears and Halo"

Obviously his statement isn't true now.  Granted, Crackdown 3 was scheduled for release this year and a couple of other games may have been as well like Sea of Thieves and State of Decay.  We won't ever know for sure though.

Wonder if this is even the last delay on this title.

Have it ever been true? We already had the table with all exclusives launched and it's pretty clear no year of X1 was better than all before it.

probably not but I would have to look at it again. I felt like 2014-2015 was very solid, 2016 was good. 2017 sucks. 360 obviously had better exclusives overall, especially the first 5 years.

I do believe 2018 will be MS best year for the Xbox One as far as exclusives go. They will have their best Spring lineup in a long time with likely have Halo 6 and FH4 during the Fall.

The big game that was supposed to launch with the Xbox One X, to showcase what it could do? and its delayed.

Tough cookies, that might effect xbox one x launch abit.

I was supposed to showcase what the xbox one could do with the cloud. Perhaps the most powerful console still needing assistance from the cloud wasn't the best marketing strategy...

How can those games you mentioned beat:

  • Bioshock *
  • The Orange Box *
  • Halo 3
  • Mass Effect *
  • Forza 2
  • Project Gotham Racing 4
  • Crackdown
  • Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars
  • Ace Combat 6
  • Eternal Sonata
  • Blue Dragon
  • Naruto: Rise of a Ninja
I know it is your opinion and all, but.....come on!

It's hard just to top Halo 3 alone.
The entire industry was a buzz and talking about Xbox and Halo 3 that year and all the records that were being broken, thanks to almost just that one game... And that paid off for Microsoft in spades considering they also had to contend with RROD.

Since then, they haven't really had the same level of fanaticism. - And each subsequent Halo release has been met with less enthusiasm.

I am hoping so for their sake.
We need competition in this industry... But if Microsoft cannot pony up the goods, then consumers will simply go elsewhere, Microsoft has no one else to blame but themselves.

Delaying Crackdown 3 this year is a double edged sword... It will make 2018 look far better, the game might get the improvements that people have been criticising it for (I.E. Graphics.).
But then the Xbox One X has to push through the Holiday Season solo and the expectations for Crackdown 3 will only get larger.

I am pretty sure I haven't played my Xbox One since March, mostly just grabbed new free games and that was it.
