It's impressive the PS4 is so close to the 3DS version(might even be on top with digital), considering it costs 3,000 yen more.

It would be awesome if DQ XI managed to sell more than FF XV.It would send a strong message that not only turn based is alive and kicking, but that you dont need to break every single franchise tradition to try to become relevant, like FF XV did.

Nah, it takes out all the strategy and makes it into yet another FF clone. It makes it a lot easier and while I have nothing against easy games I do enjoy DQ's difficulty once in a while.
The option to buy DQ11 when it releases in the west together with a 3DS is still an option. But I have still hope that maybe they'll patch it in before next year.

Its a bit different, final fantasy whas always a mill seller day one in japan, after 10 they wanted to change whar final fantasy is and it shows, ff15 couldn't even sell 700k a huge decline compared to even ff13.
Yet a traditional jrpg ( se said gamers dont want anymore) is still selling like freaking hotcakes.
Heck i fully expect dq11 being rated much higher and loved much longer then the lame ff15.

When it comes to Dragon Quest, people are often fucking stupid. Mostly cause they never even heard about the series prior to the announcement. So they'll look at sales and hear stereotypes about the game with absolutely no context and make dumb claims. I can sort of forgive the complete ignorance due to DQ only just gaining traction in the west, but the whole "DQ is dying" coming from people who have no idea what they're talking about is grating

Japs can literally play every mainline game on the 3DS.
I, II & III.
IV, V, VI & IX DS BC
VII remake, VIII port, X streaming port and XI.
If they could bring the first 3 DQ games into a single 3DS cart i could die happy, lol.
