Funny, just an hour ago I talked with my gf about how both of us think that Super Metroid is the best game ever.

Super Metroid was brought up more than once. Maybe several times. I've never played through all off it, but that last boss scene was amazing!

Super Metroid was the first game that I found myself longing to play.  I remember hurrying some from school to play, staying up past my bedtime, making up reasons not to do other things....

Pitfall, Super Metroid, Halo: CE, and Destiny are probably the games that impacted my life the most.  Pitfall got me into gaming as a little kid.  Super Metroid I just explained.  Halo: CE reminded me of how awesome gaming can be for adults, and Destiny pulled me back into hardcore gaming.

There are just waaaay too many Zelda fanboys.
Streets of Rage 2 blows away every single game on this list for me. And it's not even close. One of the best soundtracks of all-time and it's just such a classic game.

Thanks!

I'm going with Megaman X. That's my fav game of all time, after all xD

Well, it's looking like the final poll will be between Nintendo games, regardless of the reault of this poll.

Yes indeed. I'm not much of a Nintendo fan, but I had to be fair.

No surprised there. This website is fairly heavy on Nintendo fanbase but it doesn't take away the merit of the actual games though.

I have learned that this site must be composed of at least 40 to 50% Nintendo faithful. Maybe 60%. That leaves all non-Nintendo fans to vote between Sega, Xbox, PlayStation, Atari, etc. So this poll never had a chance of success outside of Nintendo players. It's unfortunate, but this is decided by the Vgchartz members, so this is what the members want. I wanted to be fair, so I was.

Four whole polls and only one game from my top 10

I didn't know you loved Goat Simulator that much.

He loves him some Goat Simulator!

If I had more room, I would have put Pitfall, Centipede, Asteroids, and more Atari Classics. I figured that Pac-Man was the only one to have a slight chance at winning though. I had thought about Destiny too, but I ran out of room!

I personally think Streets of Rage 2 is one of the best games ever made. I would put it in my personal top ten, friend. I just played it again recently! Younger gamers should get this on virtual console or PSN/Xbox live to see how it still holds up today.

Well that was an easy poll since FFVI is actually my favorite game ever.

None of the other games register on my favorite games list. I haven't played all of them though. And to be fair I've never played all the way through Z:LttP so who knows if I'd consider that one of the greats if I did. Super Metroid is a great game but I think its reputation is overblown a bit - great game but I would never consider it one of the best games ever.

Mega Man X and Pac-man are great (though I prefer Ms Pac-man). Streets of Rage and Fable are good. Haven't played Dark Souls or The Witcher, and could care less about GT games.

So FFVI by MILES!

My game isn't listed

I like the last Megaman X game. Is it 8? They finally added more scrolling in the background. But they are all fun.

FFVI is among my favorite games. I put VII and IV ahead of it though. The fight with Kefka in the end was so easy and disappointing that it made me upset. I even dumbed down (or weakened) my party for another play through and I still slaughtered him. They should have quadrupled his hit points and doubled his attack speed. Also, the world of ruin brought the story to almost a halt. The first half was brilliant though! An amazing experience!

Final Fantasy 6, followed by Witcher 3. If not for Chrono Trigger FF6 would be the greatest JRPG of all time, and Witcher 3 is the best Western RPG (maybe besides for Mass Effect).

Never cared much for ALTTP.
