Sales numbers in 3

3... hours? Days?

We talking weekly numbers, Famitsu, Nintendo's quarterly report...?

Pokemon Home details unveiled: https://home.pokemon.com/en-us/

Cost even more than the "future proof" Pokemon Bank per year, and you still need to pay to transfer Pokemon from Bank. Reminder, this used to be free and very easily still could be, we're talking kilobytes of data being transferred here. In fact everything else the service offers could of easily just been in the game, double infact, GTS also used to be and judging still is. Wonder Box is just a better version of surprise trade, 6000 Pokemon amounts to around 3GB which could very easily fit on the console's storage, and Room trade could have been in the game. Much like Nintendo Switch Online, this is a scam.

They're artificially locking content and tweaking numbers to give this service the illusion of value, creating inconveniences to sell the solution. The free version's 30 deposit limit means the GTS, despite being free atleast, will still be worse than prior versions. Putting up a Pokemon of yours and waiting for offers will work the same, but when it comes to offering the requested Pokemon, you'll be at a disadvantage. Those who paid will already have the requested mon ready and waiting in their box while free users will have to scramble to transfer the mon from their game into Home, but by then it'll likely be too late. Also, with the 30 limit, I imagine some people will move Pokemon from Go and Let's Go into Home without being aware they've been Thanos snapped, so they'll just be dead space on already limited storage.

Silliest thing is that the Switch version of Home can't trade. Everything else makes sense from a business sense, gotta make even moar money, but there's no explanation for this. Guess they're just that incompetent. Welp I'm very glad I opted out of this money sink of a series, and I'm also glad Tem Tem is sure to get even more free press.

EDIT: Well opted out of the mainline games since Sun/Moon, not Pokemon entirely. I'm currently playing through Explorers of Sky afterall.

I thought Switch Online was okay. You do get access to a heap of SNES and NES games. (Although would rather buy them on a Cart for convenience reasons.)

While I'm sure most people talking about Nintendo's financials today will focus on how the Switch and Pokemon just went ham this past quarter, I personally am very pleased to see Astral Chain crack the million sellers list.

Definitely can expect a sequel to Astral Chain.

You mean you are forced to pay for NES/SNES games whether you want them or not, and I don't want them. While I still had NSO, I played them for all of 10 minutes. I just wanna be able to play the games I already paid for on a system I already paid for.

With the updated numbers it looks very much that NS will catch the NES either by the end of Q2 in the next FY or October, very likely 55m will be shipped come the end of this FY.

75.71m

52.48m

13.56

It's not expensive though.
And like I said, would rather buy those games as a "collection" on a cart rather than stuck behind a paywall.

Will I renew my Switch Online in a year and a halfs time? Probably not. I don't play enough online to justify it.

Nintendo has just announced a Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing: New Horizons Special Edition system that comes out on March 13th.

What's interesting about this announcement is that NoA is using Animal Crossing to push the hybrid instead of the Lite. It's the right call, but wasn't a sure thing because of Animal Crossing's bigger association with Nintendo handhelds.

Nintendo of Japan just tweeted it as well:

Only a matter of time before Nintendo of Europe confirms this as well. I think pushing the Lite was the original plan because of what you said. But then they saw the numbers, saw how much more popular the hybrid model was than the Lite model and changed course.
