Forums - Nintendo Discussion - SNES classic will be 100€ in Europe, 20€ more than in the US

I preordered mine on GAME and another one on Media Markt for a friend... and the final price for both is 79'99 euros. So... I don't get were you get this 100 euro from.

On Fnac was also 80 euros, by the way.

WTF Nintendo? why?

79$ USD = 69 euro's

Why is it 31 euro (35$ usd) more expensive here?

Why should we pay 35$ more?

It's not, the 100 euros is a placeholder. I can easily find it for 74.99 euros here in Belgium https://www.dreamland.be/e/nl/dl/nintendo-console-classic-mini-super-nes-grijs-125371 , which includes tax, while the 79 USD price doesn't include it.

Value added tax which really really means you are only over paying by at most 10 to 12 euro.

$80 = 70€

100€ without tax in Germany is 84€

I mean, if that will be the price then we pay 20% more.

You can say that this is "just 14€" but for my understanding of money, 20% is a lot.

But well, it should be only a place holder, other European countries have it for much less to pre-order.

But I agree with you that some people on VGC need to think about taxes more and how different they are in different countries or like in USA not shown in the advertised price.

Its still probably going to sell out really quick lol

In the UK I've been able to pre-order for £69.99 on Amazon.

Keep in mind US prices are not the actual price. In the US all stores add extra expenses and taxes on afterwards.

Also, it depends where you buy it, most places seem to be selling it for cheaper than that.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

It's 80 EUR in Spain...

As people have allready said you forgot VAT witch is included in the european price and not the american price.

Also what is the exchangerate from Yen to Euro opposed to Yen to USD.

Does Brexit have anything to do with this?

I highly doubt it has anything to do with it, the UK doesn't even use the Euro.
