And this is why states should be able to seize assets of profit-turning companies who decide to relocate overseas. The extra profit through wages in China is going to be small, but every bit of margin for stock holders is welcome it seems. These companies have no morals.

Hmmm... government seizing control of private assets.  I think there's a word for that... believe it begins with an "f".

Fierce and swift justice?

Uh, this just isn't true at all.

Of course it is. All the jobs would go to illegal immigrants. Or do you think someone who would outsource an entire factory wouldn't take advantage of a much cheaper work force within the US? That's why they're building the wall, right?

But the jobs in a car factory are high skill positions. These typically don't go to illegal immigrants. Immigrants do fill these positions, but through H1B1 visas, etc.

The wall is more about keeping as much of the drug cartel contained as possible. The hundreds of millions worth of hard drugs being smuggled in is the ultimate need that needs to stopped. It empowers the groups selling them to be able to purchase weapons and more product.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

A wall would be a very expensive solution that wouldn't work all that well. Why the USA doesn't just send specialists to aid the Mexican government to help them fight the cartels is beyond me.

I'm not arguing for a wall, I'm explaining why it is suggested. Outside of joint military operations, how exacly could the US help fight the cartels? That is, if Mexico would ever accept that level of help from the US.

The US' intelligence services have decades of experiance in anti-insurgency operations that could come in very handy in dealing with the cartels, furthermore, teh US can assist by giving equipment or by participating in joint actions with the Mexican police to stop the cartels. All will be much more cost-effective then a wall, wich would do very little to really stop the drug cartels.

I was thinking more along the lines of "fascism"... you know, the very thing that the left constantly accuses Trump and his administration of.

Of course, but I don't see your point.

So you don't think having the government seize the assets of a private entity for political or economical protectionist purposes would reek of fascism?

Hmm.. what other industries can Uncle Sam take hold of while we're at it... how bout the oil companies?  We'll just say it's for "environmental" purposes.  Or how about all the gun manufacturers so the 2nd ammendment can effectively be abolished?

If you're going to allow government seizure of private assets merely for threatening to move jobs offshore, than might as well do it to the "baddest" of the bunch like Big Oil and guns, amirite?

Truly, this is a shocking twist of Fate that no one could have ever seen coming.
