Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft’s Xbox One X console commands the most social buzz at E3

"______ got the most YouTube views."

"______ got the most 'buzz' on ______"

You guys will find any flimsy metric to suggest more or less success at this event.

I thought this site was supposed to be about hard sales numbers, not likes on Facebook.

Dont give them ideas, that'll be the next topic... X got the most likes on facebook, means the end of Y and Z.

Makes sense. Xbox releasing a $500 console to compete against Sony $400 console.
Dejavu all over again.

Difference this time around is that the Xbox is superior in almost every hardware metric.

From what I am hearing most people think $499 is great for a TRUE 4K Console.

It's not a true 4k console though.

I'm not sure if MS winning is a good or a bad thing

It is certainly a good thing. You want all the console manufacturers to "win" as they all drive the industry forward.

But you can just get a PS4 Pro for a true 4k Console also... thats the problem with its price.

Scorpio's superior hardware should mean more games end up at 4k than the Playstation 4 Pro.

After reading all this I'm expecting xbox to outsell Playstation for 2017 and 2018.

I don't expect that to happen. The Playstation 4 Pro didn't take the majority of sales from the base Playstation 4.

A PC like experience? Once you get a BSoD mid-game, they'll have a PC-like experience all right.

Clearly you haven't played a PC game in 20 years.

Will it be monster enough to bring Halo 5 up from it's sub 1080p res all the way to a locked native 4k/60 though? do you really believe the system is that much more powerful than the base model X1?

If they don't overhaul the visuals, I don't see why Halo 5 couldn't hit 4k.

But as the game stands now, it will only be 1080P on Scorpio.

I think Vasto just wants to be happy with something since he often posts about good thinks MS do in order to counter negative comments in the internet.

I will keep myself shut and let he be happy.

You make it sound as if there is nothing positive to say about the Xbox platform as a whole. - Which couldn't be farther from the truth.
More to life than being a negative nancy about everything. All the platforms bring something positive to the table.

So was ps3 back in its day at $600. Got creamed by the weaker and cheaper 360.

I imagine it having a good debut month, maybe two then things settle down and go back to normal. Similar to last year when the S model took a few slow months before Sony returned to winning.

Yeah I think most of us agree that the biggest market this will initially go for is current XBO users, if there is a good trade in, I expect it to do well for a good 3 or 4 months even with that price, but then I expect Sony to just march through with all their games.

I'm curious how ppl think Xbox "won" E3. All I saw were games that were announced years ago like crackdown, sea of thieves, cuphead, ashen, another year of forza, a ton of small indies, and some multiplats. And a $500 upgrade console with no games to showcase its power except for possibly anthem by bioware, a multiplat.

If that's winning, then that just shows how much E3 has fallen in recent years. IMO however, I kindly believe Nintendo and Sony had a very close battle for first place. Both had amazing new games on display.

Its true they were not new games, but days gone, detroit, gow, spiderman, gt, knack2, ni no, uncharted dlc, horizon dlc.... have to admit it was better than Forza, crackdown and sea of theives in terms of AAA quality numbers... and thats the general argument, both had games we'd already seen times before, but sony had way more and had better demos....

The bigegst disappointment for me was lack of dates, but as we are only 6 months into the year, I suspect they are going to say the dates at other shows to spread out the excitement a bit more (maybe gamescom, paris games show or PSX).

Except the Playstation 3 had the Cell and split memory pools which made the console sub-optimal to develop for, resulting in a ton of multiplats performing better on the Xbox 360.

Besides. The Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 sales ended up as a wash at the end. I wouldn't say either console got "creamed".
