Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft’s Xbox One X console commands the most social buzz at E3

Social buzz to me is a useless stat unless they start extracting positive from negative.

Two people tweeting "I am never buying #XB1X because (insert reason here)" qualifies the same way toward buzz as "OMG #XB1X BEST THING EVURRRRRR!!" and yet they showcase two opposite ends of a spectrum. Not all buzz is good.

Wow,

I thought Spider-Man would get more hype.

Did you? I thought that was one of the least appealing games I saw at the conference period, and we're talking about a conference that had some shitty VR Final Fantasy fishing shit LOL. Too much a Batman ripoff it seemed to me.

Surprised God of War isn't #1 for Sony. It looked great. Probably the only thing in their conference that did imho.

I liked Detroid Too Human from Sony's conference the most. That game looks really good to me.

God Of War looks awesome too but it did not look as good at this E3 as it did last year.

Nice to see Nintendo was in the ballpark of the other two for once.

Still, Microsoft really does have a huge fan base from the 360 era that's still out there, but most switched to the PS4 (such as my friends and I) given how crappy the Xbox1 initially looked.

It may take years, but the xbox brand is still capable of turning itself around. The real glaring issue that actually happened on Phil's watch, though, is the absolute dearth of exclusives will probably lessen or postpone any "turn around" for a few years.

I'm planning to get the Scorpio, but I doubt many others are as of this moment. Those halo and GoW killer apps are no where to be seen and have largely slipped in stature, while Sony and Nintendo continue to pump out must have exclusive content.

All hype and no credible games. When backwards compatibility gets a standing ovation over everythjng else you've known where rhe problem lies. No exclusives of note this year outside of cuphead and forza. The quality for crackdown is now in question and it so judfement will come in November.

That's awesome that it got good YouTube views. It was the first gameplay trailer for Spiderman.

People are not talking about it. That is what this article is saying.

This is not about YouTube views. Did they even finish watching?

I saw the trailer too.

These numbers seem pretty suspect, or at minimum not very useful. Sea of Thieves apparently generated a comparable amount of buzz to Metroid Prime 4, 10 times more than Spider-Man, and yet it's so far barley managed to get over 600k views on the official Xbox channel.

If anyone would like to prove their faith in these numbers, i'll happily accept a bet on Spider-Man selling more than a 10th of Sea of Thieves. I'll even increase your odds by 1000% and say it won't outsell it at all

That buzz doesnt translate to sales numbers tho. Last year Horizon was at the near bottom, then went on to sell 3.4M

It does. Spiderman is the second most viewed E3 video so far with 7M views, just behind Mario Odyssey with 7.2M views

Spider-Man is a game that people are not talking about. Watching  a video means nothing if you walk away from that video with nothing to say.  People are supposed to watch the video and then talk about how cool the game is and they cant wait to play it. People are not doing that.

Sounds like Spiderman is doomed.

Well dont you know, people are rather talking about it on Twitter than watching actual footage of it.

PS4 users dont care about twitter, I guess.
Anyways lets see if all this twitter talk about Xbox E3 translates into actual sales.

I guess everyone will just choose a metric for "winning " e3 that favors their company of choice?
