Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will we see MS buying Nintendo in the Future?

If you made this thread 2-3 years ago it would make more sense. Why create a Nintendoom thread after Switch launch.

A handheld gamer only (for now).

no but a collaboration game would be cool.

FACT = Nintendo (or sony) is not to big to be brought by Microsoft.
Though its not going to happen, as has been apparent for sometime the management in Microsoft don't care about gaming that much any way, look how they've treated their Studios, priced their latest console etc

This. The reason Microsofts first party will never be on par with the competiton is because they value the aspect of milking anyone's ips (like ea) rather than involving themselves completely in the creative process.

They tried before but failed.

It would be very expensive.

It would solve their problems though.

Bayer was right before to buy Monsanto.

The biggest deal ever. MS has much more Money than Bayer and Nintendo is cheaper than Monsanto. It would be possible.

Exactly. But Nintendo fanboys won't even dare to accept the fact that is possible. Whatever the case I don't think both companies can subsist on their own for too long.Game console industry is in delicate shape and they know it specially Nintendo So at least some collaboration between them would be possible. Some minor ip in the Xbox Box lol, from Nintendo wouldn't be impossible to happen. Let' wait for the future to surprise us.

Are Xbox fanboys fans of quality games enough to know that Microsoft would destroy nintnedo ? Look at what they did to nintnedo as old second party rare.

Not any time soon in the foreseeable future, but I really hope not D:

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Microsoft could give 2 shits about gamers. Nintendo would be dismantled under Microsoft and what they would put would be a shell of their former selves.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

They are strong very traditional Japanese corporation with very long roots, I just don't see that like possibilite.

MS really doesn't have the money anyway.

Nintendo's market cap right now is like 55 billion. But you can't buy a company just for the market cap, they would have to overpay by a large amount to get shareholders to budge on selling, especially since Nintendo has a hot product in Switch right now.

So you're talking more like 75 billion .... MS has about 125 billion in cash, but that would eat up more than half their cash reserve.

That would be a monumentally stupid purchase, they kill their cash hoarde just to have more .... video games.

Nadella (MS CEO) and all the board of directors would be fired for such a grossly irresponsible move.
