Forums - PC Discussion - Age of Empires: Definitive Edition announcement trailer

Around the Network

I am so hyped for this. I spent way too many hours playing the first two AoE games back in the day. Really hoping this does well and reignites the franchise.

I know Steam released an HD version of AoE 2 but this would've been way more impactful if this was the AoE2 definitive version. The original Age of Empires wasn't terrible but it has nothing on the second installment of the series.

I'm so hyped for a remake of an old game, rather than a completely new AoE with a new engine...

Can we expect a remake of another 20yr old game than a new title for an RTS franchise in the future?.

AoE II HD was alright some years ago and more than welcome, but I honestly find a slight remake (because it's not pushing anything major for a remake at all) to be rather underwhelming than say a brand new AoE IV. This feels like it was an easy, last minute whip up for PC gamers from MS, than something dedicated like Crackdown.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Keen! Id buy this :)

Honestly after the travesty that was AoE III though I think I'd rather just stick with with the remakes and HD updates, rather than have my heart broken again.

Why do they say "Xbox Live Multiplayer" as if that's a good thing... xD

Glad they're doing this, it better come to steam or they can screw themselves though.

The devs gave a pretty strong tease that something people will want to hear about is going to be at Gamescom.

If it's Age of Empries 4, then this was a massively waste potential to bring out the hype and big guns at PC's E3.

Also I saw "Xbox live multiplayer", which could easily entail it being Win 10 store exclusive and it being designed around the Xbox than entirely for the PC. I can feel an Xbox port happening and being the "more to come" announcement.

Oh, how I loved AoE I + II back in the days.... Good times.

Good to see my favorite genre getting some love. With Starcraft Remaster and now Age of Empires i feel young again.
