So, is there a summary? I don't really want to watch a 30 minute video right now.

-Singplayer is a thing of the past

-lets make gaming like netflix, online only and watered down like watching TV

Yep Microsoft future outlook : cloud based, games as a service, online multiplayer focus.

Meanwhile sony : The God of War reboot is going to be more Narrative focused.

"Hack and slash games tend to not do so well in Europe, so the narrative this time around will make a big difference. European gamers love narrative games. And Singstar." - Ryan.

Sony is actually focusing on narrative & singler player experiances.

MS & Sony have very differnt ideas about future of gameing.

Sounds like he doesn't grasp that Microsoft is exiting the console business. It isn't a big mistake to scale back on operations that have no significant value for the company as a whole anymore.

Are they really exiting the console business, though? Why would they make the Scorpio if that were the case?

It's probably like I've been saying.  Scorpio probably started in planning shortly after rumors of the Pro were circulating, to combat it.  This was before XBO's fate was completely sealed.  Now, MS is just going to go ahead with it, giving the Xbox HW one last chance to prove its relevancy.  If it fails, MS is focusing even more on Windows for gaming.  And they probably don't care if it fails, so they are going to make sure they are making a profit on it.  That's why I doubt the $399 price.  I'm leaning more towards $449-$499.

Personally, I hope it is true. I think a market where it's just Nintendo focusing on handhelds/hybrids and Sony focusing on powerful home consoles is a bright future. They both offer unique enough of an experience and games for their customers.

Multiplayer > Singleplayer

That sounds good but it's a bad thing overall in my opinion. Without any competition threatening their piece of the pie, we're gonna miss out on alot of deals that would have happened. Also, the people who liked ms games, are gonna miss out. If MS exits then another company needs to jump in.

Gears, Halo, Forza will still get made, even if MS dropped out.

They would just be PC & Playstation 5 titles.  Unless MS decides to shut those studios down that make them.
