I really liked Blaster Master: Zero. Puyo Puyo is a close second.

Binding of Isaac if can still find a physical copy. Other than that, Kamiko is worth every dollar spent.
FAST RMX is really good. Snake Pass is a unique game I personally like but will be more divisive. Blaster Master Zero is really fun. I've heard Thumper is really good. If you never played it cause you didn't have a Wii U, Lego City Undercover is supposed to be quite good. And of course, there's Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove.
Edit: Oh and Wonder Boy the Dragon's Trap is a fantastic and beautiful remake.
