Just wondering what people are thinking of the games systems and style.

Personally I am having a grand time with this game:
I love the 3D traversal and am enjoying the combat, though I wish I could play with digital cursor.

What does "playing with digital" mean?

I am annoyed by the miniscule EXP gains that set in after several hours.

In the other games on the 3DS (and VC, was set to digital by default) you can set the cursor to be controlled as if it were a digital input (either on or off).
In this game a slight movement of the circle pad does not give a full square's movement, and I would like it to do so.

I am only in act two and am not having any exp issues yet.

The $45 season pass is BS. I know that for sure

It is a full game without it, the main game was finished 25 years ago.

It seems like you're not enjoying the game at all! However, I still may enjoy it, as you didn't like SMTIV either, but I really like that game!

I'm liking it so far. Still on Act 1, so I haven't reached Grinding Hell yet. I definitely have been making changes to how I play based on how difficult it becomes to max unit levels out...I promoted my villager characters at 10 even though that wasn't the max...just because I needed some variety in my team. Already considering promoting Lucas, even though he only just got to level 10. It's a far cry from my usual rule of waiting until 20 for everyone.

The story feels more natural so far, which was an issue I had in Fates and the last portion of Awakening, and the stakes feel higher than the other Fire Emblem 3DS games. The combat isn't quite as refined, and I have a feeling the skill system might get on my nerves later...but so far it's fun.

Still too early to compare it to the rest of the series...other than that it's very unlikely I'll like it less than Shadow Dragon.

So far it is my top FE game on the 3DS.

(still on act two)

This will likely be my first fire emblem.

I don't know what you are talking about, all my guys are all promoted and everything the second I got to the first shrine. Plenty of exp. 😜

Fire Emblem Echoes is as good as Shining Force. That's how bad it is.

Sounds like somebody never played shining force😝
