Star Ocean: Till the End of Time for PS4 launches May 23 in the west

PS2-on-PlayStation 4 game dated.

The PS2-on-PlayStation 4 version of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time will launch in North America (we’re trying to get confirmation for Europe) via the PlayStation Store on May 23 for $20.99, Square Enix announced.

The PlayStation 4 version of the game will support trophies, share functionality, and remote play.

Originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2004, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time follows Fayt Leingod and his childhood friend Sophia Esteed as they “discover the greatest secret in the Star Ocean universe.”

is it 1080p with AF/AA ect? and other enhancements a emulator would bring?

Its not just a direct port with trophies right?

It is just a direct port with trophies support.

I'm thinking it only has trophies? it would be nice if the game was touched up a little bit for that price.

It's just a regular PS2 to 4 game isn't it? Have any of the others had resolution changes?

I dont get that though.... PS2 games are capable of looking much better via simple emulation, which the PS4's are powerfull enough to run.

Sony should just add backwards compatability (to PS4) through emulation, by looking at code from things like pcsx2.

PS2 games can look beautifull:

So, coming from someone who has only played SO 4 and 5

Will this game be too outdated for me? I adore SO 4 gameplay and despise 5 lol

The games are at a higher resolution, they're not 1080p though.  I also think the framerates are stable if they're unlocked.

This is a great addition to the ps2 on ps4 library!

$20.99? This is quite expensive. I'll wait for a price drop.

Hard to comment on it, how well do you do with PS2 games overall?  I find it very hard to play Rogue Galaxy on PS4 but had no issues with Dark Cloud on PS4.
