President Trump asked the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, to shut down the federal investigation into Mr. Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, in an Oval Office meeting in February, according to a memo Mr. Comey wrote shortly after the meeting.

“I hope you can let this go,” the president told Mr. Comey, according to the memo.

The existence of Mr. Trump’s request is the clearest evidence that the president has tried to directly influence the Justice Department and F.B.I. investigation into links between Mr. Trump’s associates and Russia.

Mr. Comey wrote the memo detailing his conversation with the president immediately after the meeting, which took place the day after Mr. Flynn resigned, according to two people who read the memo. The memo was part of a paper trail Mr. Comey created documenting what he perceived as the president’s improper efforts to influence a continuing investigation. An F.B.I. agent’s contemporaneous notes are widely held up in court as credible evidence of conversations.

I'm pretty sure this is all still just alleged. I'm not saying this because I support Drumpf, simply because I don't want to get my hopes up.

IF this is true, then it means that the sitting president asked the head of the FBI nost to investigate the attorney general he hired, after being warned by the former attorney general that he was compromised by a foreign nation that intentionally influenced the US election to get said president elected.  For all the bullshit that we've had in politics, I am still utterly shocked that I just typed that sentence.  Like most things about Trump's presidency, that is pretty unprecedented.  

That's not just an impeachable offense. That is treason. IF (still an if) that memo exists and congress does not impeach, then we are no longer a democracy by even the loosest interpretation of the term.

What i find funny is why were all these people who are now posting thee thing so silent BEFORE the election? Airing this stuff on an insignificant gaming forum is hardly going to change the world

There has to be a serious investigation of this.... because of how serious the matter at hand is.

Well... that depends.  There are lots of very serious matters that are totally nonsensical.  Like... Hillary Clinton running a pedophile ring via a pizzeria is very serious, but nothing worth investigating.

If there are actually people within the FBI who can verify this, then it's worth investigating.  If we can verify this memo exists, then it seems to be an open and shut case.  Impeachment is the only option, and hopefully Pence won't  pull a Ford.

Speaking of which...
