If you're tired of Trump filling up the forums, you might want to check out the userscript I made. It's six months old but should work just fine even now. By default, it dims threads in the Politics Discussion on VGC front page, but you can also relatively easily configure it to completely hide them. Install by clicking 'Raw' near the top right corner.
