Forums - Gaming Discussion - Any developer/publisher reactions since Nintendo gave out the sales numbers?

Those sales numbers aren't particularly impressive.
Not even in comparison with other Nintendo system

Holy shit, this is another level of denial.

I don't think we're gona hear anything. If they think the sales/lineupare good enough to create a good userbase for their games then we're just gona see their games on the system...

Didn't expect anything else from you, honestly.

Developers aren't near as simple as that

Nah they are that simple that is why we still have games for the playstation 2 being made right now, instead of any new console. Anyways this is off topic regardless.

To answer the op, right now I have not heard much in terms of developers speak, they usually do not talk soon after launch like that, but you might hear stuff from E3.

What?

Do they usually react after something like sales data gets released?

Launch record for Nintendo system in US, Australia, and many European countries.......yep not impressive for a Nintendo console.

How does that even make sense?? Switch first month was EXTREMELY impressive, period. And considering it is still sold out in most parts of the world now almost two months in that makes it even more impressive. Switch will probably have 5 million sold by end of June.

What?

Seems your sarcasm detector is broken. You should get that looked at

Fair enough. Wouldnt be surprised if Fifa games were still being made for it though

Why? Almost every system sells well the first few weeks.
Lets see how it does after 6 months.

In a developer's eyes its.
2.6mill vs 60+ mill

Portability and specs and money also play a huge part. But for the big third party games it seems porting is rather difficult. So if a dev has to choose releasing a game on Switch or PS4, Xone and PC it will probably choose the latter. Anyway if there is money to be made I believe third party devs will start making games for Switch like they did with the Wii, but don't expect much AAA ports outside from Capcom and Square.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

heh, pretty sure even those have stopped now. IIRC there was a big thing about "The last ever PS2 game". Gotta wonder if EA kept releasing FIFA on it just to try and take that record

Yeah, I seem to remember something about Fifa 14 being the last PS2 game.

I'm sure if the Switch continues to sell well over the next few months and starts building a large user-base publishers who aren't on board already will start thinking about developing on Switch. Like the wii though when you have a platform at a lower performance level it may not be their AAA developers but instead the 2nd division of developers who will need to create a port of those AAA games or different games altogether. Also the fact it's ARM based makes it a good fit for mobile development divisions so could get enhanced versions of mobile games rather than reduced versions of PS4/Xbone games, probably won't make a lot of difference.

I'd love to see some of the best ps3/360 games revisited/remixed on Switch. That is about its performance level although personally I'm not prepared to pay full whack retail prices for them unless they are massively enhanced or add new content.
