Yeah this two trainwrecks or the lesser of two evils thing never made sense to me. Sure plenty of people may not be super inspired by Hillary the way Obama inspires people, but two suggest that she would have been anything other than a thousand times better than Trump is just idiocy. She likely would have been a decent not great president, what we have now is the presidency of the united states being the greatest threat that exists to the future of this country.

Obama didn't inspire people. The outspoken and very loud liberal left that would have been behind Obama anyway made it seem like he was the greatest man in the world.

If you don't think Obama inspired many many millions of people they you weren't paying attention the past 9 years. Or you're too clustered in a outspoken very loud conservative far right bubble. Obama gets elected and most of America was hopeful. Trump gets elected and most of America is just hoping we get through this disaster.

Also a lot of liberals weren't happy with Obama because he wasn't nearly as liberal in governing as they hoped he'd be. He was much more of a centrist than any conservative will ever tell you because conservatives are so far off the edge of reality anything that isn't frankly insane right is a damn lefty liberal.

Nope didn't vote for him. I knew he was a moronic POS for years. If 30 years worth of some of the stupidest things coming out of his mouth in interviews wasn't enough to convince people nothing will. Puts people out of work on purpose. Is racist. Sexist. A meglomaniac. Sociopathic. Got rich because he cheated his own family. I knew exactly the kind person he would be as president.

I don't know what to say, to be honest.  Forget the Presidential election.  All the way back to the Republican nominations, it was obvious that he didn't know anything about the issues.  He never gave details or went over his plans.  He made vague promises like forcing Mexico to pay for his wall.

He wouldn't tell us how he was going to fix healthcare, either.  THEN he gets into office and says something about healthcare being more complicated than he thought?  The hell was he doing to prepare for being President?  Even then, despite his promises to fix healthcare, all he did was hand the ball off the Paul Ryan.

And why did his supporters not care about his sketchy plans?

I just don't understand the blind trust.

Sadly now the next president does not have to be a great catch either. He or she can just be mediocre and still win. Which means we are stuck in hell for at least four more years after trump as well.

Or we will have huge change again and someone terrible like Paul Ryan will run. What is he? Right wing nut? Or is considered some other form of extremist?

The scary thing is that Trump showed us how to win and I wouldn't blame anyone for following that blueprint.

Don't give details.  Make vague, impressive sounding promises.  Make threats such as how you're going to send your opponent to jail when you get elected.  Tell everyone you're going to change government even when you're just going to bring in more of the same.  Blame the media for EVERYTHING, even when there is footage of you doing something wrong.  Call your opponent bad names constantly--even though it sounds childish, it works.

It's perfect for winning over the masses.  People would be foolish not to use the same tactics.

Nope, as I didn't vote for him. In fact, I didn't vote, and I don't regret it.

I have dual citizenship. I was born in Michigan, but moved to Canada at the age of 4, and never renounced my citizenship.

Didn't vote for him kinda knew he would ass rape the environment but not as much as he already did so far. The reason he doesn't give a shit about the environment because he maybe got 10 more years to live.

That's cool. Just be aware that the US requires all citizens to file for taxes even if they don't live in the US (which is bullshit). Had to deal with that pain this year after moving to Canada. The US is like the only country that does it >:(

Blame social media, blame the poorly funded schools and the fluoride added to tap water for dumbing down society resulting in Trump being elected as President. Europe, Canada, New Zealand and Australia all have good strong leaders and better places to live than the hell on Earth nightmare of Trump America.

Yes, unfortunately I had to do that this year. Though I didn't make enough for it to matter.
