Its Unfornute. It wont happen, but that would be overkill

Not much more than Animal Crossing + Mario Kart + Brain Training 2 that all launched close together and drove DS sales sky high.

April - Mario Kart 8

May - Minecraft

June - ARMS

July - Splatoon 2

August - Dragon Quest XI

Would work. Besides with DQX coming this fall, I don't think they want DQXI in the fall window as well, it makes sense for summer.

Well X has a pretty settled audience that will follow the game I think, it's such a long running MMO, so I doubt they are concerned there.  But DQXI landing in August would be good, strike while the iron is hot both with regards to the Switch (coming off Splatoon 2) and Dragon Quest (since it would be relatively close to the XI launch date on other systems)

To be honest I think they should just pull up their sleeves and release it day and date with the other versions. You *want* to release it when the system has other big releases, it tends to create a snow ball effect where hardware sales rise exponentially.

I would like that too but I don't want them to rush it and eff up the port like they did with Heroes, that was an utter disgrace.  It will be interesting to see how the version comes together and who shows it off first, Nintendo or Square.

It would be interesting if Nintendo themselves is doing the port or involved in it directly.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were involved in some way.  They seem particularly interested in Unreal Engine 4 and its support on the Switch.  Which I'm ok with if it means we get a good version of Dragon Quest XI like we got with Snake Pass and if it means we'll get good versions of other UE4 games like Redout, maybe Kingdom Hearst 3, and maybe Final Fantasy VII Remake (that last one is the most challenging for sure).

It may also make sense given Enix is under a heavy load just to make the PS4/3DS versions, as the 3DS version is basically two games in one (3D and 2D).

Perhaps Nintendo stepped up and offered to handle the port and perhaps publishing duties (outside Japan) in this case. That may also explain why we have not seen it yet, Nintendo may want to show it on their own time table.

It would be incredible if you end up being right, and Nintendo has helped SE with DQ before, but I doubt this'll end up being true. If Nintendo were helping them it's still doubtful that it'll release same-day as other versions because why not just state that when they announced the dates for PS4/3DS as well?

Not bad for both the Switch and Zelda! I think the Switch version of BoTW might end up outselling the Wii version of Twilight Princess.

Switch now twice Wii U, when launch-aligned.
Why is it that games I want to bomb somehow manage to succeed? First Super Mario Maker 3DS, then now 1-2 Switch. smh Japan please buy better games

lol a pet game somehow managed to sell 3k units

...wait, is the new Vita baseline now 5k units? Am I looking at an outlier, like a pre-price drop week or a "we'll introduce 20 new corors and a megabundle next week!!!!" week?

or maybe they have different tastes?  That's entirely possible. If they feel compelled to buy the games some don't necessarily want them to buy, more power to them. Maybe we should have someone go to Japan and see what influences them to buy games like 1-2 Switch.

Oh, I caught a fish while I was away. Let me make this clear, I'm not trying to trash their tastes, I'm just wishing out loud for those games to bomb.

I mean, for crying out loud, an "smh Japan please buy better games" should tell you the tone of my comment, though voice intonation doesn't transfer consistently through letters...
