It may also make sense given Enix is under a heavy load just to make the PS4/3DS versions, as the 3DS version is basically two games in one (3D and 2D).
Perhaps Nintendo stepped up and offered to handle the port and perhaps publishing duties (outside Japan) in this case. That may also explain why we have not seen it yet, Nintendo may want to show it on their own time table.
