Forums - Movies & TV - Movies That Fall Apart in the 3rd Act (Ending Sucks)

Django Unchained for me. The entire movie focuses around Django and Schultz having to execute an extraordinarily complex scheme to save Django's wife because they (somewhat obviously) lack the firepower necessary to just kick the door down and kill everyone who wants to stop them.

So obviously the last fifteen minutes feature Django single handily kicking the door down and killing everyone who wants to stop him.

10 Cloverfield Lane. I have never thought a movie was so good then so bad so quickly. The floor just fell out at the end when...well you know

I am Iron Man

First thing that pop into mind is obviously Interstellar. The film is set up as one of the greatest of its time and end as shitty as possible.

Die Hard With a Vengeance. A lot of people consider it the best next to the first one - A statement I agree with - The ending is what keeps it from being as good as the first one. Its just... Not a good enough ending. It just ends and whatever. Using a helicopter should be consider cheating.

Logan - Imma go with Logan simply because, however great the film is - the ending is terribly predictable, cliche and by the numbers and I just personally dont like when you see the ending from the 1st minute of the film. I dont know. I dont think it was bad, it just wasnt... was obvious, not as good as it couldve been.

Sunshine. I guess its the obvious choice for good movies with bad 3rd act, but when a great sci fi film is turned into a bad cliche slasher film ... well, just lol.

The Little Prince- The source material is not enough for a 100 minute film.

Disagree entirely with that statement.

don't see how Logan was predictable.  Totally thought he was going to start a school or survive without adamantium or something.  Surprised they ended his story so sadly.

Have to think about ones that I enjoyed but didn't like the ending...

However, I can provide a movie that I had to turn off after about 10 mins. Ridiculous 6

It Follows.

Fury with Brad Pitt

It was an ok movie but then it started to be a "wtf is this shit" movie.

Sunshine is pretty much the ultimate example of what you're talking about. So much wasted potential.

Nah, loved it.

How could you like both the first sci-fi/space opera half of the movie, and the second slasher half? It's like a straight either/or for me.,

Captain America Civil War, it has by far the dumbest villain plot I have ever seen. The fight between Tony, Bucky and Steve was fun to watch but the motivation and the plan of the villain where terrible.

Honestly far better than most of the plans and motivations of the other marvel villains tbqh, who are just down right 1 dimensional and stupid.

Sure but how the villain wanted to achieve those goals was pretty dumb. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ3VQkK6Upo Just skip to 2:30 or watch the whole thing it's pretty funny. But still he wanted to divide the avengers and made them pay for what they did. Why not just send that video to Tony and let the avengers screw themselves. It didn't take a masterplan to do that.
