Launch too expensive and not sell i guess?

Launch at 599 USD.

The Xbox One originally launched much worse then the PS3. Sure the PS3 was surrounded by negativity but it was nowhere near as bad as the policies, price and the inclution of kinect all combined for the Xbox. This console will be much different even if it cost 499.- or higher it is not the Xbox One console priced at this just like the Xbox One controller is not priced $150 (elite controller)

I am sure even if they pulled a PS3 the value for streamers who want to do 4k streaming and the value for gamers who want the best performance in multiplatform games on consoles will see a lot to enjoy and celibrate for the Xbox Scorpio.

It will be the only device running last gen, current gen and future games while supporting true 4k textures and enthusiast features, people will be much more willing to pay for this then for the PS3 which was the only option and had things people never asked for, like a weirdly designed cell processor which was hard to develop for and offered no real gains.

Also hoping for the Xbox franchise to "fail" which is basicly what you say here, is something we as gamers should not want. The more PS4's Switches and Xbox One's are sold the better the games will be in our future :)

I never said this, I just want it to be expensive so other consoles look cheaper in comparison.

Not a feature i care too much about, but it seems MS is designing and packing the kitchen sink into Scorpio.

Should be an impressive piece of hardware for a console.

All that stuff costs though. Its going to be priced higher, and probably go longer without price cuts.

Amazing to see the MS is going all out. Day 1 for me if its $500 or less.

I still think $499 is the launch price.

With the seasonal/promotional $50 off thing they do on the One/S applying to that SKU as well , after the first launch season of course.

PC I i7 3770K @4.5Ghz I 16GB 2400Mhz I GTX 980Ti FTW

Consoles I PS4 Pro I Xbox One S 2TB I Wii U I Xbox 360 S

Phil said he wanted to use the HDD options from the S so I think they will launch a 1TB model for 499,- and a 2TB model for 549,- I don't expect the cheapest Scorpio to go over 500 either, they know the market and because this is a larger upgrade then the PS4 Pro they have to prove and show it and convince people its worth a bit more.

I love the approach from Microsoft, reminds me of the convidence they used to have before they assigned an incapable CEO around the Kinect era lol

I can see a 499 1tb with a native 4K game bundled and a month of game pass and Xb live...

It's a shame people who bought an Xbox One at launch have to buy a whole new console for an internal power supply and HDR.

"Only console with true 4K"

Microsoft's marketing team is reaching and lying again it seems.

.. hmm.

So all of a sudden Xbox One owners have to upgrade from there launch consoles to gain HDR (If they have a TV that supports it) and for a internal power supply?

Haha im sure those early adopters are kicking themselfs 4 years after purchase.

If its going to have an internal power supply with the type of specs that are being thrown around, the shell has to be at least as big as XB1. My guess is slimmer like XB1S just wider/deeper so it looks more sleek.

With all the talk of 4k and the bashing of Pro and no 4k BD drive, its hard to believe Scorpio won't also have one but PS with Pro kept pushing 4k streaming and that's exactly what this looks like with Scorpio. However, Phil has hinted multiple times that Scorpio will be heavily gaming focused, and no 4k BD drive would save some costs. Maybe make XB1S the full media machine while Scorpio is just a gaming/streaming machine? Most of those hardcore XB gamers already have an XB1S anyway and the PS gamers have gone without a 4k BD drive, so why use one? This way those XB1S gamers can either keep their console and buy a Scorpio full price, or give up the 4k BD drive when they trade it in. What I'm curious about is if Scorpio could get away with just a regular 50GB BD drive for its lifespan.

I've seen a couple YouTube vids talking about rumors that the Scorpio CPU is highly customized with a lot of Ryzen baked into it. The more they push this 4k no compromises, the more I believe its true. I'm also quite convinced right now that Scorpio is more next gen than a mid gen upgrade really, but is simply being marketed as an upgrade do to the Pro and UWP.

There are also more and more YouTube vids and articles talking about $499 base 4k computers. Scorpio may be aiming for just this. I think one way or another they will make the price $499. Maybe they just subsidize it, or if they have to, leave out mass storage to keep the price down, and have you the customer, buy your own external mass storage device. Since you being a hardcore spec console gamer, probably want a bigger/faster storage drive than they would install stock anyway.

I cant see the price of Scorpio being less than $499 with all the new info. In that case I don't see the Pro price dropping to $349 other than maybe Black Friday and Boxing Day. $100 gap worked last time (for dif reasons) and with PS4's momentum it should be enough at this point still. If Scorpio is more than $499 by chance, then Pro will not drop at all in price, and God have mercy on XB Scorpio.
