Yeah RE7 on psvr on the ps4 pro is the ultimate gaming horror experience right now. It's an absolute must for hardcore horror fans.

I thought I was a horror hardcore fan. And it takes a lot to scare me. But turns out after 2h in PSVR, I decided to play the rest of the game in normal mode, cause it was so terrifying I feared dying or going insane.

I have serious respect for any horror fan who can play through the entire thing on psvr. Playing outlast on a standard ps4 is enough for me lol.

I agree with the OP 100%. I haven't played horror every game ever made, but of the many I have played since 1996, RE7 is in a class by itself. And to think, I didn't even plan on buying this game after finding out that it was in first person. The king has reclaimed its crown.

No that is Silent Hill 2

In all honesty I can not decide which one was more horrifying, RE7 or SH2. Both are up there, both are absolutly amazing experiences and both achieve the scares on totally different levels.

Eh RE7 is pretty good but don't even think it tops REmake as best RE game. B ehonest the final fight in RE7 is crap. Looks awesome but eh.

Respect me!

Oh, there were several moments where I was like "fuck this game" and turned it off. And even more moments where I had this terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach but, after playing this game in VR, I knew I could never go back.

RE7 is on my short list of GotY candidates. VR played a big part in that.

Did you play it on the ps4 pro?

I see you also played Alien Isolation. Did you think it was more scary then that?.
And from what i seen of it i just hate the first person mode of the new Resi game. It doesnt even feel like Resident Evil imo but more like Outlast crossed with Texas Chansaw. Sure it scary, but it isnt Resi .

This is a very light spoiler, but i'll black it out anyway in-case you want to go in blind:

It does start out like that, but the further in you get the more like Resident Evil it becomes. The transition is quite smooth, and the two themes balances out surprisingly well. The general plot being much more confined (even in the latter half) helps add weight to what would normally be just be pure RE cheese.

Okay i know I'm gonna sound like an idiot, but I've always wondered what that blacking out thing was. Could someone explain? I always figured here had to be some way to reveal writing underneath, but I cant figure it out. I only use the internet on my iphone.

I'll get it when the price drops.

Just select the text, and it should be revealed.  If that doesn't work, copy-n-paste it into something like notepad that doesn't support colors.  (Sorry can't help about iphone directly, but it should have a copy mode).

Resident Evil 7 is a great and interesting game, as well as a nice restart for this series, but best horror game ever made? I disagree. Among the top for that title are Silent Hill 2 and Fatal Frame 4.
