Forums - Sales Discussion - 105k Switches sold in France - best ever launch - 130k Zelda (96k Sw)

I expected the Switch to perform very well in France, Nintendo's favorite European country for a reason.

i wonder why nintendo hasnt given an official statement yet regarding world wide sales. it certainly did 1m+ easily. in the states its around 500k or even more. in japan its 330k, in France + Uk thats 185. they are over a million in just those countries, world wide the launch can exceed 1.5 million units in its first week. i guess an announcement is imminent

I think they'll probably announce the exact number just during their next shareholders meeting. I think it's March 31st , isn't it? Can't wait for that.

April...

March 31th is the end of FY16  March 31th 16- March 31th 17...

Unfortunately, the next shareholder meeting is at the end of April. I hope they don't wait that long to announce Switch sales.

Every sold unit eases fears, and yet at the same time replaces the hate of a bad selling system with hate for a system that sells..

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Looks really good, hopefully the momentum stays there

Where did you get that 500,000 number?

And we're all Nintendo to release hard numbers.

very solid numbers for france it seems. not lets see how this thing holds.

I think France, much like myself, loves cartoony art styles hence their affinity towards Nintendo's products.

Don't quote me on that though...

great launch all around!! guess marketing should have been good! but it's more important that word of mouth keep it selling for the next couple of months in order to get some 3rd party attention

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Wasn't Nintendo's goal to sell 2 million units by the end of March? Looks like they might have been trying to keep expectations down, or they underestimated demand.
