Switch is Nintendo's Home + Portable console for the generation.

It sells substantially less then the 3ds which is also the worst selling Nintendo Portable and was only part of it's dedicated hardware business.

Fans are very 'positive' about launch sales.

Uk doesn't like Nintendo. What else is new. Double Wiiu numbers seems ok though

That's pretty, actually! UK was never Nintendo's strongest region and even the handhelds have so-and so launches over there. Overall, it's a number to be pleased about, in my opinion.

Less than the 3DS, which had an even worse launch line-up.

Yeah, some people here were adding Wii+DS numbers to bet on the future Switch userbase, explaining that it will obviously attract the 2 markets because it's an hybrid. And now that it doesn't even sell as much as a regular handheld (without being completely out of stock either), it's awesome anyway... 

I guess Nintendo and other developers won't let the 3DS die soon... 

Cheaper though and no smartphone boom. 

3DS and Switch launches are like the inverse of each other. 

3DS launch had a lot of good "support" titles like Super Street Fighter IV, Ridge Racer 3D, Pro Evo Soccer, Pilotwings Resort, etc. but it was missing the big Nintendo game like a Zelda. Switch has Zelda but not a lot of supporting software. 

Like I said in another thread, good for you but you seem to talk a little bit too much about PS4 games in Nintendo threads. 

You're right - the 3DS was 21.74% but the later sold 41.25% more. I suppose mobile did take the rest.

So at the end, a hybrid doesnt sell as much as when nintendo still made both handheld and console.
