I know EXACTLY the one you're talking about haha

It had me furious initially too... the bananas barely slow them down. I eventually found a fairly easy to replicate path though, so if you want help, I explain the route I took if you'd like (I did that one room so many times that I can still remember every aspect of it, guards included haha)

Oh also, if you're tempted to go down and grab the gems you see down there don't bother, once you're done with the area you can go back inside and grab them with no enemies around.

Yeah I had the path down like a series of dance steps in the end. There is just enough randomness in their routines and some weird failure rate in sneak attack (completely missing point blank) that kept screwing me up. I did grab everything on the way through, used the glider to get in the secret area from behind. I thought it was an alternate path but no. Had to make a trail to lead that last guard away while fighting the camera and trying not to slip in between the rafters ugh.

My only real cricticism of that area was that they put you back at the beginning when seen. I don't think it would have bothered me much if they didn't make you do those first two rooms again that were so easy and just felt like a waste of time.

I have the entire world mapped out. And I think the game is deserving of all the praises it gets, because after a week, I still can't put it down. Everytime I see a place I've never been to, I simply have to explore it. The shrines are all fun to do, and most of them have clever enough puzzles that are worth your time because they allow you to get more hearts and/or stamina, which are pretty much required if you want to have a good fighting chance against some of the more powerful beasts like the Lynels.

I still don't want to take a break from the game, even after 110 hours, 80 shrines, 20 hearts, 2 full stamina meters, 120 korok seeds and 3 dungeons. The current main goal is to go tame the fourth divine beast, but finding the locations of these memories to find out about the game's unique take on the Zelda tale is both refreshing and another aspect of the game that makes you want to explore further and further.

And I do enjoy the game much more than any other open world game I've played, like Skyrim or The Witcher 3, even though I enjoyed them both for their exploration, world building, and story. I put around 200 hours in both of them, so you can say I'm into this kind of genre. But when it comes to Nintendo's own games, BOTW is simply much better and much more fun than OoT, I even prefer it to Xenoblade Chronicles because compelling gameplay is very important to me.

If you carry fire or ice weapons you don't need special clothing to withstand heat or cold.

I ran into the Vah Ruta beast quest by accident and collected the required amount of arrows, but the game tells me I should prioritize getting my memories back which seems boring.

The Wii-U logs the number of hours played per game every day, so you can count it together.

Do both at the same time, you'll find most of the memories as you do other things. I had three memories left by the time I committed to look for them myself, and they were all near Hyrule Castle which I avoided because of Guardians. So it isn't hard to find them. I just keep the pictures in mind as I traverse the world and if I see something that might be a memory or a person gave me a hint of where it is at, then I investigate. If not, I moved on to whatever else I was doing.The important thing is to find all of the memories before you beat Ganon so that you get the better ending. You are missing a whole part of the game by not doing the dungeons, and they are the scripted portions of the game you seem to desire.

That's true for places outside death mountain. You need fireresistent clothes for that place or you and your HUD will catch on fire.

-conquered all towers;
-58 Shrines completed;
-60something korok seeds found (are there really 900 ?);
-3 dungeons completed;
-Lynel defeated two days ago;

I'm currently in the Goron village, I lost A LOT of time to arrive here because I died constantly since I didn't have the proper clothes, now I'm stuck again because a Goron that is key to the plot (supposedly) is stuck in a cave on a cliff and I have no idea how to set him free, I've tried with bombs, magnesis, stasis, arrows of all sorts but the damn red rocks are still there, can anyone give me a hint ?

I'm not sure how to hint without giving it away... Just take a look around that area and see if there's anything that seems designed to explode shit lol, they're unique to that area.

I eventually figured it out by myself, I already tried to activate them by pressing the A button near them, I didn't expect to need to use my weapon...

I made an attempt to reach the final boss, I failed miserably, I really need to train at dodging

I've completed 4 dungeons, the 4th boss was my favourite despite not beeing necessarily the most difficult...

But I like bananas too, they fall just as easily for conjured up substitutes of just as badly. I made it past but it was poorly made. The camera doesn't work well in tight quarters, Link falling through the rafters, sneak attack missing for no reason, no alternate routes, no checkpoint. Then the fight at the end was laughably easy again. Apart from the charm of the enemies it had no place in this otherwise amazing game.

Afterwards I got distracted agin by exploring the rest of the mountains on the way back, still didn't get to the dungeon lol. I wonder does it give you hints where the remaining shrines are after completing the game? At least a 8/10 found per region or something? I think I located them all in 3 regions so far yet I could still have missed a well hidden plate.

There is an alternate route. Keep going straight instead of entering the big room with all the enemies, up the ladder and then across the whole room on the higher level. Drop/throw down a banana to distract the guard at the exit of the big room, drop down yourself and walk in. No camera problems, no sneak attacks and most of all, no need for stealth which is the most annoying gameplay that can be put into games. I'll give you that this section is the worst one in the entire game, but thanks to the alternate route it can be finished quickly and without headaches.

There are no hints for remaining shrines.

But but the gems! I didn't know you could go back for them later, didn't know it was behind that door either. I thought one of the guards in the room was guarding it, couldn't see clearly until I finally got into the secret area through the backdoor. I did that part you described last, yet managed to slip between a plank and the rafters coming back from the secret room, then Link sorta glitched to the floor, reset. Next time the blind guard wouldn't see it, one inch too far or something, I couldn't see either with the camera. I dropped a few more until he finally got going. In hindsight, yeah you can get through it quite quickly. The trial and error gameplay with reset to start makes it the worst section.

Can't wait to play more tonight, how to get the kids to go to bed early now with the time change and March break.

Anyway screw that d*mn golfing shrine. I got to the old Sheikah okay enough, but that bonus chest part is just impossible. The target's like a hundred meters away, and this time you need to hole-in-one it because there's nothing to aid you, just the bowl with the hole. Which I did seven times. No not just in the bowl, but I shot the ball right in the middle of the hole it needs to go seven times. But everytime it just bounces out, and it doesn't count. Broke all my weapons, plus the two hammers you get in this shrine, and I still don't have anything to show for it.

The Triforce itself better be in that chest...

So I tried again... And nailed it first try lol. Was lucky though, it bounced up from something eliminating most of it's speed, which then allowed it to gently roll into the hole.

The bonus chest is a bastard, broke 3 weapons and both hammers doing that.

Activity log has appeared showing no of hours played.

Oh my.
