Funny, not 10 minutes after I saw your thread I read this

https://www.thestar.com/news/world/2017/02/17/donald-trump-calls-the-media-the-enemy-of-the-american-people.html

“Much of the media in Washington, D. C. — along with New York, Los Angeles, in particular — speaks not for the people, but for the special interests and for those profiting off a very, very obviously broken system,” Trump said early in the news conference, which lasted an hour and 15 minutes. “The press has become so dishonest that if we don’t talk about, we are doing a tremendous disservice to the American people. Tremendous disservice. We have to talk to find out what’s going on, because the press honestly is out of control. The level of dishonesty is out of control.”

That night, the Republican Party and Trump’s campaign websites posted a “Mainstream Media Accountability Survey” that asked 25 questions that were worded in a way that would never be allowed in a scientific survey. The survey formalized Trump’s attacks and his insinuation that media outlets are working against the American people. It’s unclear what, if anything, the data will be used for, and participants are required to give their name, email address and Zip code.

.....

Digital fundraising experts said the media accountability survey appeared designed to keep Trump’s most loyal supporters engaged. People who fill out the questionnaire are taken to a donation page where they are asked to give between $35 and $2,500 — with the option of making a monthly recurring donation.

“President Trump is asking you to go the extra mile and make a contribution to help defend our movement from the outrageous attacks from the media coming our way,” it states. “Contribute now to help us fight back against the media’s attacks and deceptions.”

(By the end of December, Trump had already socked away $7 million into his campaign account, money that officials said they are stockpiling for his 2020 reelection.)

Disgusting. Yet ofcourse the foreign press (Canadian in this instance) is definitely the enemy of the american people as well. Must be fake news.

So the US president is now literally a scam artist.

It still boggles my mind how anyone could vote for him. I knew the US had fucked up their education system bad and that critical thinking is not on the agenda, but this is atrocious. How do you still support someone who has been obviously lying at every juncture of their road to presidency, and is trying their best to stifle freedom of press in favor of hype pieces around their person? All under the guise of 'making America great again' and by accusing literally evreyone who points out his inaccurate 'fact's or just plain doesn't agree with him of lying no matter how well proven their arguments are. The guy basically lives in an alternate reality. Whenever I stop to really think about what the people of the US voted to be their president I'm gobsmacked. Just.....how....?

Surely this man couldn't possibly be a con artist

I mean, he's orange. What do I know. I didn't want to assume he was shady just because of his skin color you know?

I triggered Donald as much as possible. I attacked him with Donald Drumpf and even wrote my email MountainofRaisins@lastweektonight.com
I attacked the stupidity of 2nd amendment rights and how guns are more dangerous then "radical Islamic terrorists". I told him how in USA you have more chances of death by fridge. I also highlighted how there are more Christian terrorists in the world then Muslim ones. Also how out of billions of Muslims, only 1000s are terrorists

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

Simple. You put him up against a person who lies just as much as he does, but without the personality. Add in backing of the SJW class, something even people on the left are tiring of, and you have a loss. Really, though, the closeness of this election shows how bad they both were.

/sigh

There is a big difference between lying and changing your mind. It's that kind of backwards thinking that ended up in this situation.

Also, i love how Hillary's evil email's were all fact and the press was right and Trumps russian contacts are fake news. Trump flips with the wind.

For the record, they are not even comparable. Hillary had enough competence to be President. Trump, doesn't.

should also ask for donations to keep out ISIS and Mexicans and to arm the troops etc while they're at it

It's really not even close.  Hillary Clinton definitely lied quite a bit.  But her lies were at least pretty rational.  For instance, changing her mind on the TPP.  It's pretty obvious that she changed it simply because of the unpopularity, but it's not exactly something that you can prove.

When Hillary Clinton was caught lying, she'd generally admit it.  Of course, she'd admit it in the politician way, like claiming she "misremembered" being under sniper fire in Bosnia, but she wouldn't keep insisting on something when there is obvious evidence that she's lying.

Hillary's lies had some rational motivation to them.  Generally, anything she lied about was to try and make herself more electable.

Trump is a completely different story.

First off, his lies are irrational.  He lies about things that can be disproven with a quick google search.  For instance, the size of his electoral college victory, or the size of his inaugaration crowd.  He claimed he fully owned Trump vineyards, when a quick google search shows he did not.  He claims you can still buy Trump steaks, when they haven't been sold for years.

When Trump is caught, he will double down.  When called on the lie about his electoral college victory, he then claimed it was just among republicans.  When he was told that wasn't true, he claimed that someone had given him the information as if their is some different source that would yield a different answer.

Trump's lies are frequently unnecessary and serve no purpose than to boost his ego.  For example, the NFL sending him a letter that they did not about how unfair the debate schedule was.  Or John Oliver asking him to be on his show when he did not.  Or that Trump Steaks are still sold.  These are just completely unnecessary and serve no real purpose other than for Trump to boast how great he is.

The difference is that Hillary Clinton is a politician who lies to advance her political career.  Donald Trump fits the description of a pathological liar.

That survey posted on GOP site is going to be really unbiased.

My 8th gen collection

definitely some loaded, (and outright onesided) questions, but i still enjoyed answering it. However, Im not sure if this poll was created under the advisement of the presidential administration.
