[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Around the Network

Turns out a lot of press have received their review hardware/software for the Nintendo Switch today.

I wonder if that has anything to do with this?

Been waiting to see how he got the unit. So far he hasn't said how in the gaf thread.

I think this is a great start and I can see this being extended as we move on. Love to see if this has folders built-in yet as that wasn't clear and it was something they eventually added to 3DS and WiiU. It is a must-have to me when I start buying digital stuff (like small titles and VC).

It looks a lot like a Nvidia device or something Nvidia would make, or even Microsoft to be honest, in terms of styling and menus.

ugh, no achievements confirmed. Not only that but it doesn't have the activity log either, thought that was a nice feature for 3DS/Wii U. 1 step forward, 2 steps backward it would seem

I think it's still soon to tell, there isn't even an available right now. I think we could probably get a achievement system build into MyNintendo, similar to Ninty's smartphone games, with proper rewards. At least they'd be useful in some way XD. I honestly never care about them though.

-All the manuals seem to be digital. They will probably only be available digitally. Not really a good or bad thing, just a note worthy detail.

No it IS a bad thing, how can no physical manual not be bad! Those days are gone and it's sad!

No unexpected surprises shown.

gae manuals were good,  but these are console manuals. they just show you how to work the Switch, and what each thing does. so its bad in the sense that you wont have it physically, but its good in the sense that you will always have a direct source for when something goes wrong built into the console

alright, point made. but aside from charging it, i dont see what else you could do if it wont even start up. and of course customer service numbers and info will be in the box.

I wonder how big the day 1 patch will be

It's possible. Isn't My Nintendo not releasing until Autumn or something though?

Regardless, the activity log is also gone too so I'm still

MyNintendo is already out. You have weekly/daily missions which you can do to get some coins. Those coins can be spent on deals like discounts, themes or whatever. I know it's not an standard achievement system, but I find it more engaging and useful. I think it could be used in games like Zelda: BOTW in this way:

1. Beat the first shrine: 30 coins

2. Kill 50 foes: 50 coins

...

Something similar to this. So the more you play, the more deals you can get. I think it'd be pretty cool. Not sure how it would work with third party games though .
