You are mistaking random events with missions that have no connetcion with the main story, two different things.

Random events are things that happens aleatory during the game. The security van part is the only thing that you listed properly

ok so? we were discussing if interesting things occur in gta v's world. whether they happen EXACTLY the way you want them to is unimportant to me, so i'm done here.

Uh excuse me? Maybe you should go back to the beggining of our conversation. I said that most of the missions in GTA V are dull and unapelling and when you are stuck in one of that tasks like driving to another area nothing interesting and random happens DURING that mission.

You missed my point and even show me one of the most dull and unappeling secondary missions in that game, wich all you need to do is get inside the truck and remove the bars.

This game is filled of scripted missions, yet you tell me that i should stay with linear games... I can tell you that i played linear games with more freedom than GTA V.

ok then tell me about these games that are so unscripted and do missions better than gta v (open and linear). i'd really like to know.

Well to be honest the mission design in GTA V is not good. It's just as bad as in GTA IV, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be a problem this time.
The only really good ones are the heists and the rest is your standard stuff. GTA V has IMO a huge problem with getting from point A to point B. You already want me to drive several miles to the mission starting point. Why do I have to travel across half the island again to get to the first mission objective? That's just boring and worse than in any GTA since it's also the biggest in terms of map size.

But yeah there are tons of games that do missions better than GTA V. Even among its clones (Saints Row & Sleeping Dogs).
To name a Rockstar game with better missions. Red Dead Redemption or Bully.

Damn I must really be missing something after gt4 I stopped playing

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

It's not like that i derailed this thread enough, but here I go. Just for start The Witcher 3 and Super Mario 3D World (I know that many will show up and laugh about this because it's cool to dismiss everything about nintendo)

Both do well their job to give the player the freedom to finish levels/missions in many possible ways and have many different results. In "The Witcher 3" you have many abilities, weapons, potions and during the mission some random enemies could even show up making the mission more difficult. In Super Mario 3D World you have power ups and the possibilty to add more players to the game.

Between these two the list is big.

PS: This conversation is only about the caimpaign mode, just to be clear.

I bought it 3 times now. 360, ps3 and ps4 and I think ill buy it again in digital form in the next flash sale. I wonder what the overlap is here, they picked the perfect time to release and I think from now on we will only see GTA titles at the end of gen with a remastered version on the next systems. Damn good strategy.

I bought it retail and digital on ps3. And digital on ps4!
