It could probably be somehow argued that the situation actually is worse, but I'm not going to do that because it's not my point. Our understanding of the world has probably evolved a lot ever since, so it's also quite possible the numbers aren't directly comparable. However, what's important here is the direction of the change: it says we've moved a bit to the worse direction.

Sure, to the US. If the US ignores the rest of the world just to ensure its own peace, it leaves Russia with more room to act according to its own interests, which seem to be related to other nations quite often. I'm sure we can both agree that what (and is still happening, to an extent) happened in Ukraine did not make the world a more peaceful place.

That's a fully American point of view. There sure is almost no (direct) threat against the US if Trump leaves other nations free to do whatever they wish among each other. The doomsday clock is looking at the big picture though, which is a different thing.

Lol, Russia's economy is shit and not just because of sanctions (which Putin is to blame for as well by the way). Also Russia has a life expectancy average of only 70. That's 8-10 years lower than civilized countries.

 Russian economy is now 6th by PPP, and that is with 14% debt to GPD ratio. This combination is - if we talk about economics - just an overkill compared to Western economies. And, in opposition to all rest of the word, their debt is decreasing, comrade. Last year it decreased by 17%

Of course they have problems now with inflation,sanctions,low oil prices, budget deficit etc - but every country has its economic problems right now, and Russian economy is expected to growth this year.

It's not hard to grow if your economy is pathetically small. South Korea has a bigger economy than Russia, lol. I'm stating facts here: Russians are drinking themselves to death. It's hardly the great country you're describing it at. It has a terrible life expectancy, among other things. Russian men can beat their spouses now without fear of being sent to prison. Not to mention how incredibly homophobic Russian society is.

Oh I'm sorry, so persuing bad relations are better? Would you like to see another cold war split over one island and a few russian majority area's in Ukraine?
