You mean.. A nice way to show off that the joycons can work as 2 single controllers..

Are you trying to say that playing Splatoon with 1 Joycon is possible?...............

If you use motion controls to substitute the second analog stick, it could be very possible.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

From SPLATOON 2 website, http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/splatoon-2-switch

  • Local and Online Multiplayer – In a first for the series, compete in local multiplayer Turf War battles, whether in TV mode or on-the-go in handheld or tabletop modes. Online battles also make a return.

I bolded the interesting part, the sad part is that it looks like it will be only for Turf Wars.

Good to hear!

Well, it still doesnt say that would work in a single switch. Maybe you need 2+switches.

Well, at least we can assume that we may have AI bots(to complete the 8 characters)

You still use the second stick with motion controls, and there's still the lack of a d-pad and the second set of shoulder buttons.

Yeah, think they would have specified it if it had split screen.

I can't understand why it wouldn't have four player split screen though, or at least two player. With the controller issue out of the game splatoon should be able to do it like any other shooter out there.

what we saw in the october trailer could very well be just 4 people playing online together.

Splatoon 1 requires 8 players, the match doesn't start if it's 3VS3.

If we have local multiplayer, the game will need either bots, or let the players play in 1VS1 2VS2 etc etc

Maybe Splatoon 2 will be a more flexible game, but even if it's half as flexible as Splatoon was, we may not have those options.

The first splatoon was so goddamn rigid when it comes to multiplayer. I finally sold it a week ago, and I'm not even interested with Splatoon 2 anymore, single player campaign was cool, but the multiplayer was so far from being a fully fledged online shooter.

Local multiplayer is the feature I look forward to the most in Splatoon 2. Always wanted to play this with my friends in one room. So hyped for it, haha!

No you don't of you don't want to. You only need one analog stick to move and motion controls to aim. This is how it works in Splatoon. As for Splatoon 2, all it takes is is to design the game to work with a single joycon.
