Yeah looks like no multiplayer games on the Switch for me.

This can even damage the sales of MP centric games like Mario Kart and Splatoon.

Disappointed Nintendo fans will get over it quick as long as they make the service worth paying for. That being said I feel like it's gonna take a while for them to get the service up to Sony and MS standards. It took Sony like 3 years to catch up to Live and even then it still lacked some features.

Paid online is a disaster for Nintendo tbh.

This and the 300$ pricetag makes it a very hard purchase as a secondary console.

 

 

Sony was selling PS4 Slims with Uncharted 4 retail bundled for 212$ a couple of weeks ago.

Snes and nes games doesn't look so attractive(free for a month? cell phones can play those and they are very easy to download). Gamecube, Wii, etc... would be a thing maybe

They didn't say anything though, other than it being paid online.



Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Horrible move. I don't care if the service is just as good as MS/Sony (although, get real...)
It alienates casuals, including parents buying console for kids (which is Nintendo market).
It alienates people considering Switch as "2nd Console".
Why pay for 2nd online package when you may only be interested in 1 or 2 Switch games?
Sony and MS get away with it, but they can run all the multiplayers, Switch can't.
Just because Sony and MS get away with it doesnt mean Nintendo can.  
Franchises like Splatoon have alot of promise,
but requiring people to dedicate themself to platform by joining pay-online is absurd.
Dumb move.
