Forums - Politics Discussion - Congress Rebukes The UN For Condemning Illegal Israeli Settlements

I'm no fan of religion especially islam but what's right and fair is not what Israel is doing. The expansion of settlements is clearly wrong and unlawful. While most countries agree this expansion is wrong it is tolerated by the US with no penalties for Israel. You only have to see some of the news reports to see how people are forcibly removed from their homes and land either to be demolished for a new settlement or even for Israels to move directly into their existing home. It makes me quite angry and if it makes me angry I dread to think how those people feel who are removed. Even a small but significant population of Israel is against the settlements.

Don't get me wrong though I see Israel as a good country, democratic, decent laws (for its own people) and a rare gem in the area but that does not justify its actions with regard expansion of settlements.

Well to bad the problem  is not about  religion conflict like in Video games.  Palestine are belong to every religion like Christianity, Islam and Jews and other religion if they wish to settle. Why the secular Jews (khazar ) want to make goverment in Palestine while the Plastine already has their own goverment, is because the founder of Israel and the supporter is not even a true Jews, most of the Orthodox Jew does not agree on israel state.

Bibi Netanyahu is really like a little child, so I guess he and Trump will get along just fine.

Continue to plant seeds of hate Israel, it shall surely pay off in the end.

Good, I approve of Obama from abstaining to vote ...

I want the US to do NOTHING with the Middle East so Israel and the others should go cry some moar about it ...

If Palestine didn't start it's first attack and Israel didn't start occupying Palestinian land settled by the UN we would have none of it by now ...

Shut up Israel. You should start about making peace.

You think that a 2000 year old claim still holds? Then pretty much the whole american population can go right back to Europe. There were people living in Palestine before the Jews, by the way. The bible actually talks about the wars that conquered the land.

Because God promised them the lands of Kanaan and they became it and it was legitimated by God himself

You mentioned the americas it was the colonial powers that used the religious card to legitimate their conquests and that was false

is that so? then he should have gone to the UN security council and spoke against the resolution - any idea why he didn't?

Israel has the right to build setlements its their home and they can do whatever they want and nobody can interfere in their actions

Oh how I wish Palestine had the resources and the will to strike back at israel. They`d no doubt get all the hate for it but they would be on the right side.

Well, it's not like Israel hasn't been attacked from all sides before. They do well enough to defend themselves.

And they will have to for centuries before the situation in the ME might finally calm down..

Europe needed 2 World Wars within 30 years to come together and try to create lasting peace by establishing a bond of friendship instead of fucking each other over. I wonder what it will take for the Middle East to stop demonizing and scapegoating each other and instead propagate acceptance of their difference and the will to live with each other in relative harmony ...

Talk about antisemitism. It was foretold that there would be a day we see evil as good and good as evil. We are in that time, now.

Yeah, no.

We are in Trump lands now, you can't just throw "..ism" and expect us to listen or care. If asking Israel to stop violating international laws is antisemitism, I am happily an antisemite.

"Netanyahu reportedly told New Zealand’s foreign minister that support for a UN resolution condemning Israeli settlement-building in the occupied territories would be viewed as a declaration of war"

Keep throwing these bitch fits Netanyahu, this is almost as fun to watch as American politics. I wish more countries voted.

"Israel reduces relations with 12 Security Council countries"

Wish they'd do that with the USA and stop stealing Americans' taxpayer money. Obama gives them 380 billion dollars in aid and irondomes and we can't even ask them to stop bulding settlements? Cucks much?

I can't believe the only justification I am getting is based on some ancient religions. I keep trashing Islam on every given chance, to the point that I forgot Christians and jews can be just as bad, thanks for the reminder! I piss on your Jesus, be it your prophet or your God, during these holy holidays.

Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned as biased a speech by outgoing US Secretary of State John Kerry on Israeli-Palestinian issues.

Mr Kerry said the prospect of a peace deal based on a two-state solution was in grave jeopardy.
Israeli settlement building on occupied land was a major problem, he said.

Mr Netanyahu said he was disappointed with the speech, which he said was "unbalanced" and "obsessively focused" on settlements.

Mr Kerry had "paid lip service to the unremitting Palestinian campaign of terrorism" against Israel, he said.

France, which will host an international conference to lay down the framework for a future peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians in Paris in January, indicated support for Mr Kerry's position.

In his speech, Mr Kerry said that despite Israeli claims to the contrary, UN condemnation of illegal Jewish settlements on occupied land was in line with American values.

"The two-state solution is the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians. It is the only way to ensure Israel's future as a Jewish and democratic state. That future is now in jeopardy," he said.
He added: "The Israeli prime minister publicly supports a two-state solution, but his current coalition is the most right-wing in Israeli history with an agenda driven by the most extreme elements.

"The result is that policies of this government, which the prime minister himself just described as more committed to settlements than any Israel's history, are leading in the opposite direction. They are leading towards one state."
The French Foreign Minister, Jean-Marc Ayrault, said Mr Kerry's speech was "clear, committed and courageous".
