Forums - Politics Discussion - Obama should close his mouth and leave in dignity

Obama is so full of shit. Trump was the number one enemy of the media and I didnt see much about the emails outside right wing media. The grabbing pussy thing was used to ruin Trump by the media.

The dems are blaming everyone but themselves for taking a beating this election.

Politics in the USA is so childish, petty and pathetic. There was no real debate on anything, it was all about personal attacks of both candidates.

This election was probably the greatest example of that but I blame the left for much of it.

The dems simply cant have a discussion without calling people racist, sexist, etc. Those kind of attacks kill any serious discussion.

Trump dragged the level needed to become president down so low that even the pussy grabbing comment couldn't sink him, there's no person in American history who'd win the presidency with that on tape for the world to hear.

What I do have a problem with is the FBI director playing favorites and injecting himself into the election like a week before, gifting Trump the news cycle for a week. That's not the role of the FBI or any federal agency to do that. And that may well have cost Clinton the election, Nate Silver has shown that a substantial part of the vote only made up their mind the week before the election and Clinton only lost in Pennslyvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin by 80,000 votes or so ... a tiny amount that easily could've been swayed by that.

It's especially disingenious because they announced just the day before the election that basically they found nothing new. It's fairly transparent what the motive for doing that was.

That I do have a problem with.

Obama has deported more immigrants than any other leader, authorizes drone strikes that kills civilians, sucks up to Saudi Arabia despite their horrible track record, authorized a war in Libya, arms rebels in Syria that commit numerous atrocities, he has prosecuted numerous whistleblowers, he helped bail out wall street instead of the people, he was silent during the North Dakota pipeline protests, he still brought out the troops from Iraq nor Afghanistan, he said that Guantanamo Bay would "be easy" to close, yet 8 years later it's still open, etc.

To be fair on the North Dakota thing I think he was involved in putting pressure on behind the scenes to get the Army to halt construction (at least for now anyway, it'll probably get greenlight as soon as Trump takes office), someone on high applied some pressure some where it seems like.

Drone strikes are bad but what is the alternative? Letting terrorist hotbeds grow out of control and hoping for the best? Having boots on the ground which would probably result in greater casualities and leave whole cities/villages levelled? Not really sure there's a good answer here.

Libya was a mistake, but I believe he's actually acknowledged that calling it the big regret of his presidency. It's not like Gaddafi was a boy scout or something though and the US involvement there was limited. I agree though on this he shouldn't opted to not get involved.

He did bail out Wallstreet, but I don't think there was any choice, a collapse of the banking system would've hurt the "people" too, as far as I know most people don't keep their life savings in cash and most people need loans from the bank to buy things like houses, cars, etc. He also bailed out the auto industry in Detroit which saved a lot of jobs.

There are some rudimentary forces left in Iraq and Afghanistan but no where near where we were pre-2008 where many American soldiers would've been forced into their 3rd/4th deployment to either country.

Do you seriously believe that Barack Obama cares about "the terrorists"? If he was really so worried about the increase of terrorism, he would be cutting off support with Saudi Arabia, potentially the biggest exporter of terrorism worldwide. Fighting terrorism is merely a scam of a pretext to invade another country.

The left are basically non-existant in the United States. Liberals were pretty annoying though, ignoring every flaw of Hillary and intentionally ignoring why Trump was so popular. However, it is undeniable that Trump is racist and sexist.

I honestly don't think the president actually even controls all this stuff. There are other agencies that basically set the policy.

Like for example I remember hearing that Obama wanted to withdraw troops from Afghanistan but he was told that was not allowed, and that he had three other options to choose from.

The scary thing about Saudi Arabia, is OK, you dislike the government, but if they were overthrown, the situation there would likely become *worse* not better because the people replacing them would like be full on fanatics. It's probably a sad fact in the Middle East that there are terrible leaders virtually everywhere, but the people waiting in the wings to seize power from them are even worse.

Saudi Arabia begged the US to go to war in Syria, and Obama did not take the bait, this is the first time the Saudis have ever really been rebuffed by a US president in who knows how long. Saudis are not crazy about Obama, they liked Bush much, much better because he was at their beck and call.

Him and his wife both need to go.  8 years ago when Obama was riding high in the primaries and on the verge of securing the Democrat nomination for president, Michelle at a campaign rally stated that "for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country."

Fast forward 8 years later, she's been married to the most powerful man on the planet for 8 years, enjoyed lavish vacations and hosting countless parties and celebrities, and she's pretty much set for life after her husband's gig.  But what does she have to say now that the election results didn't go their way,and she'll no longer have access to all those taxpayer-paid vacations and White House parties and events???

"Now we're feelin' what not havin' hope feels like."  - Michelle Obama on Oprah, 2016

Don't let the door hit you on your big fat ass, Michelle!

What a disgusting and pointless post.

Trump is unique, he was able to do things most candidates would never say or bounce back from. This is probably because Trump is a candidate we viewed as a human being so we accept he isnt perfect but more important he's discussing issues in a way people like.

Hillary is unique as well. She was not trusted by many of her own supporters, she couldnt get the same crowds as Trump in many states. She has a lot of baggage, shes deemed corrupt, and not releasing those emails bit her in the ass to the very end. No other democrat could be perceived as corrupt as her and still represent the party in an election. She had support simply for being the wife of Bill Clinton.

I think the green party and libertarians did better than usual simply because many voters didnt like either Trump or Hillary. The green party is essentially democrats and stole just enough votes to take swing states from Hillary.
