Forums - General Discussion - Has anyone seen Netflix's new series The OA?

How is it, whats it like?

It's actually pretty solid.

Is it "OMG 100 OSCARS" good? No, but it was enjoyable enough to make me watch a non-documentary series for the first time in several months.

Netflix should keep making stuff like this. Instead of producing garbage anime(don't get me started on Sparkle force) or allowing Adam Sandlers to run around, they should keep high quality series in production. people clearly like their original content, and I hope it stays this way.

Watched it last night. Pretty good, I like the direction and there's some fantastic acting. The story is fairly good, the ending was merely okay. It's a good mystery show, but the likes Stranger Things are head and shoulders above it.

Edit; major kudos for style of narration though, it really is something, especially in the first episode.

If Netflix continue making stuff like this I'll quit. It's plain boring. The only show that's moderately entertaining is Starnger Things and Daredevil but even they are massively overrated.

It's on my list. I got sucked into Dirk Gently's first. I loved the books when I was young and it's a decent wacky adaptation of it. What does Netflix original series mean btw? I hope not exclusive, as they should be watchable by everyone.

That is so bordering on Doctor Who it hurts at times (Smith Doctor in particular) but it's a really good show all the same. Love Elijah Wood in dark stuff like this, have you seen Wilfred the US version? He is fairly messed up in it but brilliant if you can buy into the idea of the series.

gotta agree they're overrated, but I'd rather see this than Sparkle force or another 1 star 'comedy' movie

No, haven't seen that. Dirk Gently is a lot like dr Who, which is good, since Crave tv got exclusivity for Dr Who :/
I've also watched the rest of Black Mirror, s1 and s2 were recently added. It has some great episodes.

Is there any nudity in it?

I just finished up season 3 of Dusk till Dawn, which was pretty bad. Season 1 was good, because Kate was actually pretty decent and bangable. Season 2 she kind of pudged up, but I was still able to soldier on. Season 3 she might have lost a little weight, but I just wasn't attracted to her anymore. I just kept watching to see the other chicks and maybe some potential boobs.

After watching that, I was deciding on whether to try and watch Fosters again. Since I stopped when the new Jesus too over. I just can't stand him, but I kind of want to see if Callie will go back to incesting Brandon. Hot stuff!

Instead, I chose to start watching Crazy Head. Black chick on it is pretty fugly, so I paused it to make dinner.

Now that you bring this show up, I might be persuaded to watch it. So, any boobage? 😐

If you haven't seen Wilfred I would say just download the first 1-2 episodes of it, you'll know very fast if it's the show for you or not.

Get the US version for Elijah Woods as the main char.
