That's probably just them giving a nod to the whole "party system" shtick that people liked and still like about the Wii, but in a way that highlights the unique portability of the Switch.  I mean, it is pretty cool in principle.  And let's not forget LAN parties were a thing that died not just due to the internet but more due to plain old inconvenience.  And I think Nintendo also wanted touch on the social aspect, the fact you can take it to a friend's house or a party because a lot of young adults now are quite social and I feel that scene in particular was aimed at that crowd.  Which is the brilliance of the trailer, it systematically targets multiple demographics, each in a way that would appeal specifically too that demographic.

One must ask if the general audience of said trailer is able to excercise such lateral logic when watching them, though. Subtle highlights often go flying over the general audience's heads.

That's true.  But I think the trailer has a good spread of "eureka !" moments throughout so while the whole trailer won't appeal to everyone in it's entirety, there's something in it for most everyone.  And the composition, direction, and sound choice help give the trailer an inviting and positive feel that make it generally fun to watch I think.

Oh, this would be a great addition for the Switch!

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

This is a good sign for third-party support on the Switch, even though I'm personally not getting those games if they do come out (Not my cup of tea).

Funny enough lan parties are one of the major reasons portables are so huge in Japan, their culture tends to have a number of gatherings as well as tasks where they're out the house for long periods of time even the school days of students are long to which portables allow them to game at. It's one reason games like Monster Hunter are so dominant over there.

This is big news. If this is true, this means the Switch is capable of running technically demanding AAA Xbox One/PS4 games, not just sidescrolling indie titles.

A portability version of it may interest a lot of people!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Would all three titles fit on one cart or are we talking about multiple carts this early in the console's life?

I would get it. I played Dark Souls 3 on the PS4 and PC but would definitely play it again on the Switch. One of my favorite games of the past few years.

Nice. Since I barely played the first game, I would def love a trilogy remaster! I also miss playing Dark Souls II and III, so that's a plus. ^^

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Well, sure the Switch will be well powered but this doesnt indicate anything. The X1 version of DS3 cant even maintain 30fs (unless a patch has changed this) and who knows what it means that its running at a level of performance they are happy with.

Definitely this would be a good catch for the Switch but its just a port of several old games. But games are games I suppose.

Not really... DSIII is a 2016, you know. And while it's not Battlefield 1, it's a demanding game indeed.

Edit: Btw, sorry for the double post.
