What I'm saying is that, there is a clear point that is holding it some points down, and if it was removed, with being a normally developed game, the score would definitely be higher, as would lack those complants and deductions.
The game would have been getting A LOT of perfect scores, instead of a lot of 90%.

And I disagree with that notion, but the "what if" scenarios are such a muddy, hypotetical ground that shouldn't be presented as anything, because I might as well say "if they were removed, critics would find something else to focus their complains on" and I'd argue as such that it wouldn't get that lot of perfect scores you claim. And since it's a what if scenario, good luck trying to disprove it.

We need to work with what we have right now. And what we have right now is what I just said back there. Great game whose uniqueness itself is a source of complain by some, and by some I mean almost half the critics right now. Then there are the technical issues, but outside patches, not much can be said about them at the moment, and since I haven't grasped the game I don't know how bad they are. Could be serious problems, could be critics blowing it out of proportions.

That's why it would have been 90, not 100
TLG is indeed far too unique for that, it's bound to drag some people away in the process, it's not a blockbuster, definitely.

Like I said, the times of ICO and SotC being the only referencial unique masterpieces are long gone, since there are plenty of new games that manage to grasp at that unique mantra.

There are? I haven't seen any, only failed attempts

Interesting how "PS2 Game" is used as a pejorative in some of these reviews. I don't think games have seen a linear progression in quality. Rather, design choices that often split fans as hear often complaints about "modern games" specifically in regards to low difficulty and hand holding.

I get your point but a from what i've seen complaints talk about polished controls and camera and I guess it's safe to say the great mayority of gamers think they have gotten better since the ps2 years

We're also the rare breed that consider The Evil Within to be the superior game over Resident Evil 4, so it's not like our opinion about games in comparison to the general public account for much, I'm afraid.

We just disagree in this front!

Tbh, it's a fair complain. PS2 controls are now outdated. And I think it's almost a fact that games control better now than before. I think most of the reviewers are pointing that against just the controls, not design choices if I'm not mistaken.

What I don't get is complains about Trico being unresponsive at times. I thought that was the point. You're actually "training" it, so it's fitting imho.
