Forums - Sony Discussion - Rumor: The Last of Us 2 to be announced before E3 2017

I'm torn, I definitely want to see more from the world but I would love Naughty Dog to bring something fresh. I've no doubt whatever they bring I'm going to love.

As for teasing the game, it feels early but if they know what they're working on I can see them just teasing the name, maybe a tease in the Uncharted 4 DLC. Hopefully they then don't show anything until release (or very close to), but that's just as I know I wont be able to resist.

Don't ruin the moment

Who cares if the first had a perfect ending! I want to play more in this world, hopefully as a older Ellie. Bring this on man!

Thats great news!TLOU is an excellent game(though not the best gen game that many seem to say) and I would definely love to play a second game.I just hope that the story of the second one is around a new cast or is with Ellie as a protagonist and muuuuch older, like with 20-25 years old.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I'd rather they save TLoU2 for an E3 2017 announcement, with a gameplay demo, like GoW this year. That would really be insane.

BTW, TLoU2 has a chance to be the most 'complex' ND game based on game mechanics & level design, if UC4 is any indication.

Not if it's releasing in the same time frame as TLOU did, E3 would be too, way too close to the release of the game.
If it's releasing mid year again, December sounds right, TLOU was revealed December 2012, afterall.

True, I never considered that.

I was hoping for Savage starkiller. But i guess we are going with TLOS 3 ... or wait, was one uncharted? :p

Honestly, i'm tired of their sappy story style. I just want to have fun playing a game without getting hit in the feels. I can always watch a soap opera if i want that.

That sounds like a ruthless gorey gritty star wars lol did you mean savage starlight?

I would rather they do that too. They've done cartoony platformer, kart racing, action adventure, horror stealth, they can do action adventure Sci Fi now.

Starkiller is the force unleashed guy. Yeah i confused them. xD

I want to fight against Infected again.:)

The Last of Us was such a good game, but I like it being its own thing. Ended how it needed to. Doesn't really need a sequel or spinoffs.

I totally agree, unless they have found a way that takes the story and characters down a unique and interesting path then I would be fine with it. Naughty Dog are amazing in their conception, ideas and stories etc but a sequel to TLOU could fail to live up to expectations easily. I also feel that potential pressure from Sony and even within Naughty Dog will force them to make a sequel as it is a true PS4 exclusive(no PC version) and would definitely sell millions of units and consoles. Very rarely does a first-party developer produce a new IP that sells millions just stop at one.
